so i suppose u are going to buy all the correct equipment to educate the public on correct reefing ??? why dun u tell us what equipment u are going to buy first so that the public have confidence that u will be successful. in ur blog i only see metal halide . ur tank is only 2 feet i suppose . from ur drawing , i think u put ur tank on a computer table , which probably will fail with time . i suppose u are using ur metal halide without chiller as u say u cant find one small enough.

do u use drift wood for fresh water . normally they release tannic acid which cause the yellowing of the tank. using good activated carbon like rowacarbon should solve the problem. if ur lighting bulb is around 6500k - 10000k , it will be yellow no matter u change new ones or using old ones. combine it with actinic blue should balance the lighting and increase viewing pleasure.

havn u fully cycle ur tank. if there are presence of ammonia and nitrite, ur inert( snail) will normally be the first to go . fishes that belong to the damsel family have greater tolerance for ammonia and nitrite .

who is the lazy one at least i try to change water once a month. latest parameter measured: nitrate: 10mg/l pH:8.0 kH:6 water change time i guess

ur mangrove is working . how about the D-D phosphate test kit result . personally seen the tank, clean , neat and the mangrove is really an eye-opener. my eyes nearly pop out when bro reefzz tell mi the price of one mangrove in UK and US . nice guy who is really willing to share his knowledge too. thumb up for sk reefers!

yes , cleaning ur ' bacteria house' with tap water kill them. i am unsure whether is it due to chlorine or different salinity . but if there is a need to wash ur media, do wash it with slightly warm tank water to clear ur debris. leaving ur water for days does dissipate chlorine into the atmosphere as chlorine is highly unstable. but there is this thing call chloramine which will never dissipate into the atmosphere. once heard from my environmental prof saying that singapore do not use chloramine.. but i do not take chance, use water conditioner like seachem PRIME help to make the water condition better for water change

after rescaping , i have 4 zoo colonies and 1 stay polyp to be given away . no picture of zoo, but common in LFS. collection in sengkang. relatively easy coral for starter. pm mi if u are interested.

definately not my final rescape. just an update .. my tank is not scape yet . church for whole day ... just came back haiz ... i try to scape for 2 hrs last time but cannot really achieved what i want later try again. hee hee
