  8. Wow~! No wonder I heard you have been shopping fast and furiously~!!
  9. Wishing all reefers a Happy New Year! A blessed 2016! Lorries stay far far away!!
  10. i guess its brown jelly.. correct me if im wrong.. a short freshwater dip may help but looking at it with the receding flesh and all, not looking so good... Or you can try coral rx too Place it at a low flow area after the dip and let it recover if possible.
  11. I see.. This blistering issue is still quite a mystery, happened to me once but i took the extreme measure by fragging off the affected parts and left it to re-grow again. So far so good. I have my kh around 9 to 9.6 and I dose bacteria twice a week due to my new set-up. If high kh and increased bacteria dosing are the 2 factors that you suspect then I would say its due to your increased bacteria dosing because I have seen many reefers who maintained kh around 10 to 11 but they do not dose bacteria regularly as their tank is very established already. I hope my sharing helps!
  12. You are always welcome bro! Lucky u came alone and not with your gang. Hahaha [emoji12] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Bro your dkh at 9 seems fine to me, any reason why u wanna lower it to 7? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Looking at my rhomboid, I think I managed to replaced Solskjaer with CR7!
  15. Taking a break from adding more sps and let my water stabilise for a while, so what's there to do? Fish shopping~!! Got rid of the dreaded sixline wrasse (but i have to say its still the most hard-working fellow in my tank so far, just that its aggressiveness far out weighs the hard work he puts in day to day..) Managed to trap that little fellow using the beta box, I cannot describe the happiness in me when i see the door slammed shut.. Like machiam Ole Gunnar Solskjaer scoring the last minute winner in the Champions League Final! After sending off that devil, in comes another pest buster, a fairy and a flasher~! Halichoeres vrolikii aka Vrolik Wrasse Cirrhilabrus rhomboidalis aka Golden Rhomboid Fairy Wrasse Paracheilinus angulatus aka Angular Flasher Wrasse Nice fishes add more vibrancy to a reef tank.. Seeing them zipping around the reef is a great joy~! Paracheilinus angulatus Paracheilinus angulatus Paracheilinus angulatus
  16. yes bro.. Thanks for the reminder, it has always been my worry but too busy with other stuff to take care of that. Will do it tonight!
  17. Lucky for me indeed... stayed home the whole day to WATCH my chiller.... Thanks for the help bro! Welcome you anytime~!
  18. And so I was cleaning up my chiller yesterday and realised that it kicked in for every 2 minutes!! Panic button pressed, checked the temperature with a glass thermometer, temperature still hovering around 26 degrees. But digital temperature on chiller is fluctuating up and down in minutes. Cfm thermostat gone case. Im using a Hailea HS90 btw. So special thanks to bro Drato, whom I got his contact from another kaki. He wired up an external temperature controller for me immediately yesterday and all at a very modest price from a very humble reefer. Glad to know that there are many steady reefers around my Neighbourhood! Heres some pics! ps: Anyway, I will still choose hailea over any other chiller at the moment due to its performance and price level. Even with the added external temperature controller, it is still way cheaper than other brands.
  19. Some updates on ML Awesome magnifica... But not for sale, can go appreciate nia
  20. wow!! This is a simple and brilliant idea!! Got to give u 100 points for creativity bro lol
  21. Always a pleasure to share [emoji4] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. best to leave you refugium free of livestock in the beginning, let your macro algae grow well first, troublesome to spend time monitoring livestock for dt and refugium at the same time too. a pair of clownfish is a good start.. easiest fish to start with. Clean up crew, u can try sand star (they shift around the sand bed, helps to keep sand bed sparkling) and nassarius snails (finishes up any food that lands on your sand bed) for your sand army, algae on rocks you can try turbo snails, tux urchin (they eat coraline algae too but to me, they are the best), seahare works best for hair algae (but not recommended very very new set ups as they are quite sensitive) All these u can get easily at ah beng
  23. If i rem correctly, the startup kit is a combination of biodigest and biotim but it has an accelerated dosing recommendation. But its good you have decided to stick to the one month period although i also feel that the cycle can be completed much earlier nowadays with the better range of products in the market now. It'll be better if u can consider adding livestock that takes care of the algae issues you will be facing first, add an easy fish then followed by an easy coral like mushrooms, zoas etc..
  24. If you are just using prodibio, you should have used the recommended prodibio start up for your cycling and resume biodigest and biotim combo after which. http://www.prodibio.com/start-quickly-cycle-tank-aquarium-water-bacteria-biological-filtration The start up kit claims to be able to add livestock after 12 hours but i will still cycle the tank for at least a month, with the dosing of biodigest and biotim.
