Yes it will subside over a few days or so. In fact first two weeks u can dose bacteria daily, like brightwell microbacter7 is a good choice. Did u use nsw or salt mix for cycling? I'm assuming u used nsw? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Skimmer does skim away some bacteria, like most of the bacteria we have will have instructions to turn off skimmer for a few hours. You mean your chiller inlet is tee off from your return pump? But even so, u can still power off your chiller right? No issues also but just to save electricity la hahaha Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I always thought the prawn method is abit too much, if your intention is to get higher readings of ammonia and nitrite, perhaps a little bit of fish pellets in the filter sock or on the filter sponge will do just fine.. If the prawns release too much nutrients that your bacteria cant cope then perhaps your rocks might leach a certain percent of the nutrients, that's going to an issue for u in the coming months with algae coming along.. i don't think you should be running your skimmer for the first two weeks at least also. Because you might be skimming away the bacteria that you are dosing.. Not necessary for your chiller to be running as well during cycling bro hope it helps

hi bro, yes u can definitely add rowaphos and ceramic rings in sump during Cycling, ceramic rings to house your beneficial bacteria and rowaphos to absorb silicate and po4, both helps to improve your water quality and prepare your water for livestock additions

coral beauty, powder brown, flame angel, yellow tang etc.. -
Lol some minor hiccups, lost some sps, battling algae... All part n parcel for a new tank I Guess, but I'm pretty satisfied with its progress. As for the mats, pretty easy to remove, just need to pull them out. I recently pulled one out due to a small rescape Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hmmmm good point, I honestly did not consider that. I took it as the same material as the other equipment that we use in our tanks. Yes, it's those cutting mats for pen knife. Thanks. I will go find out more now that you mention this lol Yah the 2x12000 is just to Ensure I have the highest possible water volume turn over. I want that because I have a high bioload. that's the Acropora Horrida http://coral.aims.gov.au/factsheet.jsp?speciesCode=0034 for your further reading, a good website to learn about the different Acropora species. Information on other corals are available too.

haha thanks bro. That's just a well angled trick shot lol thanks bro, still many things to learn and explore in this beautiful hobby

Nice new toys you got!! that ocean free cyclops looks damn potent, any particle size indicated on the packaging? I'm always very hesitant with spamming such food on a regular basis. Hope that it stays nutrients low for your tank!

Had my ATS running for almost 4 months, finally I have some decent growth of hair algae.. Mixed feelings, not sure if I should be happy or sad lol but my ATS seems to be having all sorts of algae and not just hair algae. Is it normal? But anyway, just Glad to have all the algae in this little box instead of my DT. any chance of it turning into rainbow colours? I see that the colours are slowing blending together over time... Fingers crossed! nice pink encrusting monti with pink polyps, from a Fiji shipment. Heres an interesting angle shot of my tank, makes it look full of Acropora!! I love reefing!

I think your best bet will be Henry. Better to text him and check first. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

From what I understand, prestech is slightly more pricey. Alternatively, you can check out Teck Cheong Aluminium as well, much cheaper but limited choices. Then again i guess hanging rail should be pretty straight forward, dont require much add ons or other fixtures.

did you check the expiry date? ive been using it for the past 6 months. Didnt have any issues like yours. probably contaminated after the cap touched water?
-
Upgrade my sump tank huh?

Cleaner shrimp pair housed under their Duncans colony. Spawning quite often, probably once a month or two.

Lol thanks bro! How's your return pipe issue? Solved? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
