Pros and cons for both... In my opinion, if you're having sps, good to have white as it reflects some light onto the bottom side of the coral... However, once it gets dirty, it becomes as good as black... Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
If it's a FOWLR, there's no need for a chiller... Just a fan will do and daily top ups of RODI or distilled water... Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
To add on, to have ammonia and nitrite reducing bacteria is easy... The difficult one is nitrate reducing bacteria... Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
NOPOX to me is for more like an emergency to me... You need the bacteria in there first otherwise NOPOX may not be of so much use... I use that whenever I add new fishes or feed more... It will multiply the bacteria... But you need to have the bacteria in there first... Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
More likely bacterial bloom... In a fresh tank, you might probably experience 2 blooms which should clear up in a week... By that time, your nitrate will be high... Dosing bacteria may shorten the period and deal with nitrates better... Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
Are you sure it's velvet in the first place? If you're gonna use copper, there's no need to use hyposalinity since copper treats both... Both treatments induce stress on the fishes, although it is said that hyposalinity is gentler on the fishes... But why go for both to induce double stress when copper can rid both ich and velvet? I remembered reading somewhere that it is not recommended to use copper in hyposalinity conditions... But I can't seem to find the article already... Sorry about that... Needs a lot of swimming space... In my opinion, at least 4 feet... Usually feeds readily and easily on pellets... However, it's aggressiveness leaves much to be desired... Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk
