WTS Hailea NEW chiller HS-90A (1/2hp)
SubzeroLT replied to tansk's topic in Sell off/Pasar Malam Shop
Two thumbs up for great seller. And thanks for delivering it to my friend's place in the East. Chiller is running nicely for his planted FW tank. -
You can customize an ATO tank from Atlantic Glass (located at Serangoon area). Reasonable prices. Best to email them with a drawing of what you need. Can self collect or deliver. Contact info : 65 6280444. atlanticglass@ymail.com

Looking forward too. But not ready to fill up yet. Its a 2nd hand tank, so there is some touch up needed on the tank itself. I'll share it here in the forum.

Amazing.... Much to learn from you.
-
Wow...your tank looks amazing! What are you using to keep nitrates down?
-
Its a tank from fellow reefer. 5 x 2.5 x 2 ft.
-
The curved edge of the door is very unique. Looking forward to updates.
-
Not much updates... just some photos to share : Bryopsis started to grow....damn.....so troublesome to get rid of it. even have some growing on the shell of the clam. From a fellow reefer...think its a galaxy monti Busy preparing an upgrade. Plan to do it slowly over the next 2 months.

Drop in coil condenser vs chiller
SubzeroLT replied to enseng's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
The smallest condenser unit is 1HP. A new set with coil & installation is typically around $1.3k locally. An equivalent 1hp Hailea chiller is around $800-$900. Artica does not have a hobby grade 1hp chiller. The largest they have is 1/3HP. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Looks really nice! What sand & equipment are you using for the new tank?

In theory, that's the rough final flow requirements. However, somewhat more complicated is factoring in the losses due to the pipes (diameter, length, joints) & height. Note that not all pumps are the same. For example, my Jebao 12000l/hr return pump provides much less final flow than the Ecotech Vectra M1 (rated 7500l/hr). I assume that has a more powerful motor (higher torque) & able to handle the resistance better.

Let's say a UV filter chiller calls for flow rate of 300L per hour. This works out to 5L per minute Collect water from the output of the UV filter for 1 minute then measure the water. For me, i just use a travel weighing scale to measure the weight of the pail of water collected. Rough measurement will suffice. Same concept for chiller flow rate.

The return pump is the heart of the system so it's good to get a good quality one . An ecotech vectra M1 or L1 would be nice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Need help in tuning the skimz cm122 calcium reactor
SubzeroLT replied to chercm's topic in Product Reviews
Any pics of the tube connections - just to double check its correct. Pics of the secondary chamber? Double check that the black hoses are not clogged with small chips too. It has to be related to the lack of water pressure pushing water through the system. -
The zoa collection is really nice. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Specifically, folks usually get the Hanna HI736 Phosphorus Ultra Low Range checker. There is a conversion to phosphate ppm. Just google for the conversion. If you don't want to spend so much, another option is the Nyos phosphate checker. It uses a 2 bottle comparison method & easier to read compared to Salifert.

Nice pics. Getting another leopard wrasse to pair up?
-
Congratulations on winning the wavemaker. Its not hard to control. Its a nice powerful wavemaker which has more features than the Jebao RW series, so its just a matter of getting used to the buttons.

Darren contacted me to help measure his PAR levels. Generally moderate PAR. Numbers are not excessively high as it was a 6 tube ATI fixture. More importantly, the corals were doing well & coloring up. Some areas on the right was quite low for SPS. Suggested to monitor & reposition if needed. The pink birdsnest on the left was right in front of the Gyre. Some algae was growing on the branches/tips facing the gyre. A sign that the flow was too direct. Suggested to move the pink birdsnest away a little. He plans were to supplement the T5 with 2 strips of LED. This should bring up the PAR & add some pop that LEDs provide. Look forward to more updates, Daren.

Very nice!!

Thanks... worth considering. Correction on my earlier comment. i meant that "Chlorine" fouls up DI resin very quickly.
-
Very interesting. That's a 20L filter housing (assume 20L resin). Do you know how much water it can process before its exhausted? Want to calculate the cost per volume of water Do you pass the water through a carbon filter before the DI filter? I understand that carbon fouls DI resin very quickly.

All pumps & wavemakers are running as per normal. The loosely fitted net keeps it contained. After a while, it'll latch on to the surface

Thanks. Anemone is from Iwarna. PMed you.
