Explain this way,your system is the engine.zeolith is the engine oil.don change it is possible but affect the performance. zeobak,zeofood7 is like the fuel,no fuel engine cannot start. you need the basic component zeolith,zeobak,zeofood7 and zeostart to run the system.

carbon should be use in a passive way in a mesh net bcos of it strong attributes of absorbing element which can bring quick changes and cause problem.

may be those experience reefer who comment in this thread don mind to post pic of their tubs or tanks here to share with us newbies their experience.

The zeolith as recommended by G. Alexander is more efficent to use with the zeo reactor or diy type not in mesh net or fluidized reactor.need to be clean daily with a few pull on the handle.

start with zeolith,zeobak,zeofood7 and zeostart.can only get from the shop at balestier road. using it for more than half year to maintain mainly A.hycanthus colony.

tunze 6100 for circulation and aquabee 3000l for return in a 30gallon bare bottom still having dead spot.
