hot air generated by Chiller
Lee Hon Myung replied to Lee Hon Myung's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
i think old hdb will be abit risky to stack another compressor on top. think the noise should be bearable.. probably as noisy as a hailea chiller? anybody using kulthorn compressors? any feedback? TIA Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Bro Tofu, your tank is very inspirational. thank you for sharing your thoughts from zeovit right up to recommending which CUC to get which have surely helped newbies like myelf. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

hot air generated by Chiller
Lee Hon Myung replied to Lee Hon Myung's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
thanks for sharing! should have thought of that when setting up, or opt to cool via compressor. now the hot air is blowing towards my living room.. and the weather these days are not helping -
Hi all, any experienced bros have a way to difuse the hot air from chiller other than turning on air con?

bro, i am also fighting diatoms now. doing water change every other day + running phosban reactor seem to stop the spread. try not to overfeed your fishes and minimise lights if you can

Hi all, i have a 6 months old 4x2x2 tank with live rocks and sand bed, about 8 mixed juvenile fishes, 1 anemone, some zoas and a leather toadstool. my cleanup crew: 1 Trochus snail 1 Astrea snail 1 Algae Blenny 1 Cleaner Shrimp 1 Diamond Goby is this team good enough for 4 feet tank? i am having abit of a Diatom boom, already trying to contain with water change+po4 reactor. i am thinking of adding another 3 trochus into the foray. is having 4 trochus in a 4feet tank abit of an overkill? Other than the trochus, only the Goby is hard at work keeping the sand clean, but the blenny never bothered.. it just wait for me to drop food :/

Hi all, i currently have a 3 feet sump with about 1/3 allocated for the refugium. initially i only have 1 handful of cheeto plus a bag of carbon (no sandbed) but after adding t5 lighting, it has now boomed into a forest with and the dirty bottom is brimming with activity! i see alot of very small looking shrimp like creatures that seem to crawl very fast in the water, i even see some creatures that resembles the brittle sea star. question: should i attempt to clean the bottom of the refugium (that means i will have to take out the creatures i mentioned above)? there is this red plant that grew out of nowhere (i presumed is some form of algae) should i remove it from the refugium as well?

FR with rowa and biopellet
Lee Hon Myung replied to lotu112's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
very informative thread, i wished i have read this about thr existence of AIO pellet earlier, then i dont need to buy 2 phosban 150 for p and n... -
thank you bro iskay for the id. you are right. i think i should start removing some of them as some adults are wandering near the surface of the tank (from what i have read, they are releasing sperm into the water. lol)

Good work on your tank bro.. i learnt alot just by reading your thread! kind of interested in getting ATS as well, can pm me the price?
-
sorry for poor photo, the reddish brown creature that is on the rock. some are black while others are beige.

thank you everyone for your replies. yes i also read about how my tank can be too young after i bought the anemone.. lets hope it can make it through. let me digress abit: i noticed some kind of sea slug coming out from my live rocks when i was cycling the tank. i didnt really give it any thought and the slugs seems to multiple at an alarming rate, there are at least 20(the bigger sized are alittle big longer than 1cm) in the tank and this morning i noticed that there are at least 5 near the anemone. should i be concerned?

Hi all, i am new to SW and after 3 weeks of cycling i bought 2 small clownfish 2 weeks back and just last week i added a bubble tip anemone and 1 anemone crab. the anemone crab is the first to host onto the anemone and ever since the 2 clownfish got to know of the anemone's existence, all 3 of them never left the anemone. is this overwhelming for the anemone? and because of this the anemone seems to be moving away from light and under a live rock.. is this normal?
