Having some issues with nitrate and phosphate.. Nitrates doesn't go below 25. Phosphate is always at 0.25.. I use salifert test.. I do weekly water change of 10%.. Jus introduced a small refugium.. Fist size of caulipera. Reduced my feeding to once a day.. Still having issues with red slime algae.. My elegance is starting to retract itself.. Is there something wrong or I'm not doing??

Jus want to help this guy.. He is a bit quiet.. Eager to eat but coz of the eye always doesn't end up getting the food in his mouth.not sure wat I can do It doesn't seem like disease to me.only in one eye. Other tangs not affected

Hi xiggie, thanks for the tip. Yes,the salinity might have been quite different. Increased tank salinity from 1.018 to 1.022.. Plan to increase it to 1.025. the salinity was 1.015 when received from shop.. Been slowly increasing it

Added more livestock.. Put in 3 cleaner shrimps two other crustaceans (Forgot it's name) and an anemone. Cleaner shrimps died the moment I put it in. Never acclimatize properly I think Bought three tangs from a fellow reefer gave me a hermit and another fish for free (forgot its name also)

Did my first water change.. Discovered some residue from the salt that was added. Still figuring out how it got there

Having some white stuff(spots) crawling all over the tank now.. Its not fungus.. Saw them crawling..origanted from the decaying prawn.. Any idea what it could be?

Hi all, I have been following this forum for a while now. Learning a lot about this amazing hobby. Decided to share my tank progress here. I am aiming for LPS and soft corals for now.. Hope to get some feedback and share this journey with all.. Specs: Reef Octopus NWB150 1 set of Aquasonic 4 x tubes T-5 Light Dc Jeabo 12000Litres pump 1 HP commercial compressor chiller External overflow box 3.8 ft sump tank Currently in my second week of tank cycling. Put in a prawn last week.. got some signs of ammonia initially (i think) and nitrate is currently building up.. Hoping to start populating in a weeks time. Also i found that royal nature test ammonia test kit not very useful in detecting ammonia. Switched to Tetra.. had better results. The royal nature nitrate test kit works fine.

Hi there, Firstly a big thanks for the people who started this forum. As a aspiring reefer, this forum is really useful. I am looking for a reliable and good wall tank maker and cabinet maker that could do the following project for my home. Tank would be sort of flush with the living room and protruding out into the kitchen. Basically the "hole in the wall" will be hacked by my contractor. The problem I see is the cabinet behind would have to be flush with my kitchen cabinet. Preferrably almost similar to my kitchen cabinet design.. just that inside would be my sump tank that would have to be connected to my main tank. Also it should be aesthetically appealing, thus i didnt consider DIY option. I have contacted N30 Tank. I personally found the quote on the high side. Hoping to find other contacts that could do this at a more affordable price. I have browsed the forum, people have suggested atlantic, reefsystems and others but not sure if they would be able to do customized designs such as this, thats why i started a new thread.
