  1. Finally get to see the tank thread of the Legendary Uncle Mike! Indeed very inspiring! Hope to have the chance to see the legendary tank in person soon. [emoji7]
  2. Thanks, James. Yah, I realised the hard way that I cannot be lazy in reefing. Water change is a must.
  3. Latest view of the valida. I hope this will turn out to be a bonsai as the seller claimed to be.
  4. A little preview on the improvements I am seeing now...
  5. Hahaha... pure hard work... I carried out intensive water changing of twice a week, 10% each time for a period of slightly more than 1 month. In parallel, i also started dosing bacteria and made some tweakings to the lighting systems, flow, sump setup and added more clean up crew that help to clean my sand and rocks of detritus and algae. Considering to start a tank thread soon and will share more details in there when I do. [emoji16]
  6. Oh my, sorry to hear that. What is the status now? Have you restarted? Thanks for the compliment. Glad tat my tank is getting better day by day...
  7. Fantastic tanks with lots of gems! [emoji7] Saw them recently and I think i probably helped top off the tank water with my saliva! Lol...
  8. Bid high high, then the surprise will be it's not free! [emoji33]
  9. Haha... u r most welcome! Just a little token of appreciation. Price is much lower than the amount I bidded. [emoji4]
  10. Thanks thanks! Anyway, i like auctions for the fun of the process also... hehehe...
  11. Haha... i was expecting more like a buy-one-get-one-free or u giving a tub of ben & jerry! Lol
  12. If u dun mind a bit yellowish chaetos, i can pass u some. At Kallang.
  13. So this is the difference! I have been wondering too... lol
  14. Haha .. quite true also... our sea water also not very clean...
  15. [emoji33] serious? U dare to eat?
  16. Bro, u put the squid n cuttlefish in your main tank with the corals n fishes?
  17. Thanks to all your advice, bro weeseng.[emoji16]
  18. Yes, i now firmly believe salt is one thing that cannot be stinged on.
  19. Bro, the tank is already more than 2 years old, so shd be fully cycled right? My guess is lousy salt used previously compounded with high nutrients in the past that got sucked into the liverocks. Now that i have changed to red sea coral pro, things have improved. But i guess my liverocks are still leeching nutrients. You have rightly observed the corals in tat pic were not doing well. Now they are getting better. Left: Before, with algae growth on stn tips. Right: Now, tissue has regrown over the tips and base is encrusting...
  20. I am actually very shy to put up my fts, but I guess it is necessary... hehehe... so here it goes...this pic was taken some time back n most of the sps inside are either up lorry or passed to some other people who can better house them. Please ignore the placement of wavemakers in the pic and look at the scribbles I made instead, cos I have made changes since this pic was taken. The wp40 and rw15 are facing each other on pulsing (else) mode. But as they cannot be sync, i just let them run in their own timing. I guess tat is also another form of 'randomness'. [emoji16] My return is at the back, right side, blowing over the tunze. That tunze is blowing from back right, towards the front glass, blowing slightly to the left and slightly downwards. A second tunze is placed below the rw15 to provide additional flow at the bottom half of my 2.5ft height tank.
