  1. Beautiful tank bro... you must be doing something right cos your corals look so healthy. I'm assuming you're referring to open brains? I find that they can take awhile to get accustomed to the tank, but once they get over that and start feeding, they are generally quite hardy. They can be quite finicky with placement initially. The places where u have them now are sweet spots so the next time you get a new one... place the new one nearby or replace the old one. Just my 2 cents...
  2. Thank you! Thanks for the heads up... I know its risky, cross fingers... if it turns rogue, I'll throw it in Ashwin's tank...lol...
  3. Good job bro... Yr mushrooms are looking good. Yes, you should always dip yr new corals especially those from some notorious lfs. Hope to see more additions soon
  4. 2 new additions from Iwarna yesterday.... Pink-Streaked Wrasse (Pseudocheilinops ataenia) Its still very shy and it hides all the time. But at least its alive. And... Crinoid Squat Lobster (Allogalathea elegans) Rather interesting little creature. Was hanging on to some sps last night but it has moved to reside under my elegance coral today. Took me awhile to find it...phew...
  5. The new lights look nice. Why don't u try placing the mushrooms under the arch, in the shade and observe a couple of days. They are usually quite tough, should survive
  6. Awesome bro.... Actual tank looks even nicer
  7. Hi bro... That's the latest led from maxspect right? Is it dimmable? Start off with the lowest for now. Mushrooms really like low light and low flow. Do u have a pic of it?
  8. Buongiorno bro! Lovely tank... filled with beautiful sps colonies...
  9. Think the light coverage for the 60w won't be enough for yr tank bro. Might end up buying again. Should hunt for 2nd deals like shaohao
  10. Hello my friend... How's everything going?
  11. sometimes this yuma will shrink at night and take on a whole new colour
  12. Thank you! My coral beauty is still not feeding but it looks fat and happy. Keeps grazing on rocks but leaving my corals alone... cross fingers. There's a downside to having corals so close to each other. Quite high risk of them attacking each other. A few lessons I've learnt over the last few months: 1. Don't place open brains too close to yumas because the yumas will open up during the day and it will sting the brain. 2. Don't place candy canes too close to acans because acans, although they seem quite docile, will decide to sting the candy cane one night. 3. Stick your sps frags well... because if they fall, they will land on some lps below and its usually a goner. 4. And most recently, in a fight between a hammer and a flower anemone... the flower will lose and it will be too stubborn to move away
  13. I would cry... Corals > fish Thanks for the kind comments guys!
  14. thank you! I'm honoured... currently using maxspect razors 120w 16k version, so far so good... can even keep some sps I'm still doing weekly wcs... ard 10%. That plus my biospheres and skimming helps keep the nitrates down. Go easy on the feeding... you only have one fish right?
  15. I started dosing iodide a couple of months ago. Did notice an improvement in my zoas and green star polyps. But u might not need it with such low stocking and regular water changes. What salt are u using?
  16. Amano would be proud of yr scape... Nice!
  17. thanks... was quite hesitant about adding an angel to the tank but when I saw this guy I couldn't resist Its a dwarf angelfish... max size about 4 inches
  18. my new coral beauty... eyeing my sun coral. Please start feeding on pellets... and don't touch my lps
  19. Thanks bros! Yumas like low lighting and low flow I find. My nitrates are ard 2. But I do feed coral frenzy and redsea reef energy A & B about 3 times a week. You're right... the coral on the left side is a hammer... well, its actually 2 hammers, one in front of the other. I'm using Maxspect razors 16k.... this was shot with whites 80% and blues 80%. Think what you're seeing is the shimmering effect... should have turned my wavemaker off...
  20. thats true... good water, good lighting and fish poo will do
