i have two pieces of live rock. each should be anything from 2 to 3 kgs. from the goodness of your heart, you could swop with me for a small branch or two of live rock. otherwise, a coral will be okay. i have no specifics. failing which, i will be prepared to give away. collection will be near katong shopping centre. please bring own container. if interested, please PM me. thank you.

i have a 820 for my 3 x 2 x 1.5 feet tank. pretty satisfied with its performance. in fact, a week ago, bought another unit of 820 but yet to commission it. will commission the 2nd unit this weekend. somehow, intention is to let the water movements clash to create a mini turbulence which will be good for lfs, corals and any dead spots.

Keeping Banggai Cardinals in Pairs
Nautical replied to auberon's topic in FOWLR (Fish-only with Live-rock)
i have two pajama and one banggai cardinals for the last six months, and are growing well. each of them very peaceful, hovering or moving around. no problem with mine. -
okay lah, not trying to score brownie points. it would be good to enjoy some jokes and brighten up our days and nites leh.
-
no worries .... if you can imagine or seen morning fog over a lake with a slight breeze blowing .... that's how the rowa are moving. very peaceful motion without any turbulence at the top. hence the chances of rowa media leaving the reactor would be very slim. btw, although the resun website specs says for 500 litres of water (assuming referring to this model), the pump to use is 1,220 to 1,400 l/hr. http://www.resun-china.com/product9_en.htm however i am only using pump of 600 l/hr which i trust is giving the desired effect. perhaps it is the length of the rubber hose used which is quite short. those using this equipment, please contribute your comments for benefits of others. maybe can in future write up in the product review forum.

one day ago, i fitted the Resun FR model FBF500 and filled half the container with rowa. i used a power head of 600 l/hour and you can see the rowa in motion, very fluid-like without clouding the water but constantly on the move. i believe this is ideal. when and what, if any, tell-tale signs am i expected to see for improvements in the tank ? any comments much appreciated. thank you.

i have a fibre glass pond, with a removable centre piece that acts as a fountain designed like a mountain. with a powerhead, water will flow down the mountain/fountain. i have previously used it to keep koi, goldfish, parrot fish and latest inhabitant is a luohan. i will be glad to sell it at a price most comfortable to you after viewing. seriously, you name the price and i may still give you a discount .... how's that for a deal? if interested, send me a pm. viewing can be done at katong area.

went to the subject bookshop and saw "Living Reefs of the Indo-Pacific - a Photographic Guide" by Rob van der Loos. on an average of two beautiful photos per page, there must be more than 300 photos of this photographic guide. each photo has a description. and the price ..... on special offer ..... only $9.90 and of course, i bought a copy. it is value for money. i believe there are sufficient copies still available. also, many dive sites guide books on sale. b'coz i am not a diver, did not pay much attention. however remember each book featured dive sites in maldives, cayman islands, papua new guinea, etc. each book costs either $5.90 or $15.90 (sorry, cannot remember).

i have a coco worm in a hard tube for at least two months. i must say it is a happy creature, coming out of the tube frequently. two days ago, i bought a bicolor blenny. guess what ? the bicolor blenny will occasionally put itself into reverse gear and slides into the hard tube where the cocoworm is dwelling. what is gonna happen ? what can i do ? personally i do not want to sacrifice anyone. help please. your comments welcome.

i have a question regarding the first compartment where the water comes in from the main tank. is it necessary to put one or two layers of cotton wool for filtration ?
