  1. If I have a high ppm reading, does that mean my ion exchange resin is not working, or the RO membrane is not working, or both? Apologies if this is a silly question.
  2. Anyone has any recommendations? Is the TD600 any good?
  3. I'm considering getting a few of these to deal with a slight Aiptasia outbreak, however I am concerned that they might nip at my Duncan. Anyone can advise if I can keep them with Duncan?
  4. I would like to know if there are any known predators of bobbit worms. I noticed one in my tank a few days ago and it was huge. Couldn't catch it out before it retreated back into some live rock at lightning speed.
  5. I noticed duncan coral comes in two types, the branching and bunching type. My question is how do you maintain a branching type as it is? because it grows heads out of each of the mother heads. Does it eventually become a bunching type as well?
  6. yeah most impt is lighting cause they are photosynthetic. mine has grown like more than 10 extra heads in around the same time frame! is yours the branching type or those with the heads clumped together?
  7. Colour wise still ok? How long have you had yours? Mine starting to become alittle more green again. Could be nitrates issue.
  8. Now tioman is still quite ok, visibility good, quite a good variety of marine life. Corals still healthy haha.
  9. Wow so long? I heard if you apply pressure and vinegar and warm water it will go away. where did you snorkel? I like to dive at tioman haha. Just woke up not too long ago, me early riser good morning to you too!
  10. you went to touch??!! how long did it take for the pain to go away?
  11. It's starting to get frayed and small holes are appearing on it. Nothing wrong with water params and lighting, furthermore all my other fish corals and even NPS are doing well.
  12. My Duncan recovered from a parasitic infection for about a month thanks to anti parasite dips. It is healthy now except that it has brownish stalks instead of green. Why is that so? I used to target feed my Duncan with reef gel, however now I only use broadcast feeding of clam max, phytofeast, amino S and polyp booster. Is this sufficient or should I resume target feeding as well?
  13. don't have la, just thought of going to shop to touch haha
  14. Well turns out its rather hard to keep, during transport many of them are exposed to air and microscopic bubbles get stuck in them and they can't pump them out, leading them to starve in months. Mine is dying as we speak.
  15. Woah luckily you told me! I was about to touch them to see if their sting is really painful. But nah won't keep them afterall as their lifespan is only 10 months.
  16. Is that so? I have an orange fan sponge, not sure if its what you are referring to. Only eats phytoplankton 1-3um in length and cannot be out of water even for a second if not bubbles will form in it and kill it. Had for slightly more than a month and its not doing well.
  17. I'm thinking of getting a few for my reef tank and placing them in a large porous circular basket. I have read conflicting reports that their sting can be painful but not deadly or even non noticeable. Obviously I wouldn't want to deliberately let myself be stung so anyone has any experience on this? Haha In terms of food will clam max and mysis shrimp and beta brine suffice? Are they also easy to breed, and do they release stinging cells into the water? I'm concerned because they share the same water with my fish.
  18. My supplier has problems with supply of nitrifying bacteria, and I am looking for good effective brands of nitrifying bacteria that can be used for both fresh and saltwater. Any suggestions?
  19. Do you find your unit to be more cost efficient and reliable? How do you maintain your unit? Where did you buy it? Thank you!
  20. Anyone knows where to get branching live rock? Need it for my filefish to rest as they are growing bigger.
  21. Hi Narcosis, just interested to know if you have made deep night dives, and if the organisms are different.
  22. I set up the culture around 6 days ago, and apparently optimal growth levels are reached from day 8-14. I was told that they require micro algae grow every 10-14 days and have fed them on the day I started the culture. The thing is, instead of having greener water, my water is starting to appear cloudy instead. Why is this?
  23. Is there any treatment for fish affected by cyanide? From what I know, there are fish certified to be caught without cyanide. However when I ask for the certification, most of the fish shop owners either don't know what I'm talking about or claim it takes too much effort to get the certification. I've also heard of fish harvested under supervision from the marine aquarium council. Would you know if there are sources for such sustainable fish in SG?
