I have a Duncan coral that used to open all the time, however ever since I stopped target feeding it does not open as often.
Is this normal? I have heard that it is not necessary to target feed Duncan.
I routinely shake up my bio balls in the sump to prevent dirt from getting trapped on them to increase the surface area for bacteria to grow.
Problem is when I do so, the water always turns slightly cloudy.
Any reason behind this?

I don't trust the product.
On aquanerd's blog it states that it's essentially a rebranded form of a product from superbac
The last I heard was that it was not successful:(
I'm thinking more along the lines of living in a zinc roof house but with big land haha, nothing posh
Nowadays there are more and more expeditions to the amazon with guides and accommodation.
Just wondering if any of you have been to the amazon/South America in general, and could share your experiences.
Hello!
Given the small size of our houses nowadays, have any of you considered buying land in some ulu part of SG/malaysia and rear your marine pets?
I'm seriously considering doing so. Anyone got any ideas/contacts to share?
Yup I know that one has it. Any others with a physical shop front too? I need to order $100 worth of stuff each time to get free delivery if I order online
I used to be able to get it at clementi, but they aren't bringing it in anymore.
It's great at removing nitrates! Anyone knows where else I can get it?
I have used goodbyePO4 with great results, but I understand it's basically lathanium chloride which can be gotten much more cheaply.
Anyone has recommendations on a good phosphate remover, or where I can buy lathanium chloride?
Any articles pertaining to artemiss being reef safe?
I can only see info on herbtana being safe for corals.
However it makes no mention of safety for organisms like snails and crabs.
Would you have this info? Many thanks
One of my flashlight fish appears to have sores on the side, it looks like he has been attacked by a bristle worm but I can't be sure. It's very hard to take a photo of him as he retreats once I switch on any lights.
He is still feeding normally and is active but I want to prevent any infection from setting in. Most importantly this medication has to be reef safe.
Any recommendations?
As we all know, bio balls are the homes of nitrifying bacteria.
However it seems not to serve it's purpose as dirt collects on them and I have to stir them up from time to time.
It is especially bad when they are placed directly below the overflow compartment where you place the filter wool.
Anyone encountered this problem?
I have cut down on feeding a lot ever since I saw them. And no I use tongs to remove them. But this cannot be done in the tank as they move amazingly fast. What I do is take the rock out in a pail of water and watch them emerge. Longest one was nearly 2ft!
