I see only 2 gate valves and 2 unions in the design, don't have 'one way valves' and ball valves. Anyone care to confirm?

to prevent water backflow to the sump during a power blackout, I think it's better to use a powerhead situated in the main tank.

I have a small Macro venturi skimmer and wish to swop with a Weipro 2011/2012. I don't know the model of my Macro skimmer but it's 15" high and 3.5" diameter.

Came across this article from Advanced Aquarist's Online Magazine.
It's a vey simple concept and will possibly eliminate dead spots in a tank. Beside a return pump, you may also use a powerful powerhead in the main tank or sump.

I use auto food feeder that dispense Formula 2 pellets 4 times each day. Alternate days feed between brine shrimps, mysis shrimps and lettuce. Btw, Surgeonfish are herbivorus. It's better to feed with spirulina algae or dried seaweed.

I'm selling my 9" snow flake eel. Very hardy, easiest to keep among the eels. Eating mysis shrimps, market prawns and squid.
