  1. hi...limbssg... if i m not wrong that is a full growth adult redsea sailfin... and agree with neokn... it is one of the best colour sailfin i have seen.... do you keep one of that yrself??...

Mine is a normal Sailfin Tang (Zebrasoma veliferum)...

And I have never seen such good looking Red sea Sailfin in LFS before.

  2. I've been using those swing arm hydrometer since day 1 and find that it's alright. U must keep track of the SG every 2-3 days and top up with fresh water.

Generally, corals, inverts and clams require SG 1.023 - 1.025 while fishes can tolerate SG 1.020 - 1.025.

  3. limbssg, how exactly do u feed the dry seaweed to the fishes? Do u clip it on a clipper or just place it on the water?

I'm using a PVC pipe abt 15cm long. Just use a tong to put it in and I don't get my hand wet. The advantage of this over a clip is that I can cut a larger piece of nori, say, 12cm by 6cm.

  4. U didn't mention how old is ur livestocks.

There are many reasons why the fishes died. Cyanide caught, improper acclimatization, fish not eating for prolonged period etc. Go to a reliable LFS and make sure that the fish is eating before u buy.

Perhaps u can consider a yellow tang and some species of dwarf angels for few months before trying large angels.
