  1. thanks! Though I wouldn't want to see the finishing :S LOL Id rather it last long
  2. Thanks for the suggestion @MarcoVan. The issue will be resolved tomorrow. The salt will be added until the salinity is satisfactory
  3. I stay in bedok. Im requesting for a complete water change now and im going to see what happens first
  4. Just found out that my tank was accidentally filled with rodi water instead of seawater. Im currently searching a way to remedy the lack of salt in the tank
  5. no. You need to find them another tank with aiptasia to feed on
  6. @azlindaza not really. If you put in enough effort it won't look bad to yourself imho. And yes, posting a pic will help. Try searching up reefscapes online and that could give you a lot of inspiration. When I scaped my tank I took 2 days of keeping my hands in the water before I was happy with the scape.
  7. haha thanks! I can't wait to see your finished product too! Maybe I'll check out your restaurant in the future
  8. Thanks! There is around 55kg in the dt and 5 in the sump. I think it was $7/kg and all came for iwarna. They're all cured rocks too.
  9. Set up 4 crab traps. I couldnt take a picture of one due to the placement of it. Inside there is sotong. I went market today and sotong was cheaper than prawns(market selling a lot of tiger prawns. Very ex) I dont think the cycle has started because the tubeworms keep multiplying and multiplying and multplying... now at least got 50 of them on the rocks. Got like 3 diffrent types some more. Hopefully the sotong will rot and boost the cycle. I suspect the macroalgae is doing its job too well and absorbing the nutrients needed for the cycle but I wont touch them now. I bought test kits from fnm but they were having their holiday so the order didnt process. Have to buy again. I have no clue of the ammonia or the nitrates at all
  10. Errr... your ph shouldn't look low... Nice scaping and setup anyways!
  11. Aahhh the cycle has started. Already observing diatom on the rock
  12. actually I did consider the dead zone in the cave, so I made it such that the water being sucked into the lower chamber. I put sinking food in that area to see if it will trap detritus and it didn't, so im not sure it will still be a problem... And the area where the rocks are near the wall is accessible by an algae scraper so im fine with cleaning it. I haven't gotten my wave maker yet if you haven't noticed, so im unsure if the water dynamics would change later. Thanks for the advice though!
  13. Thanks! Yeah its definitely exciting! Thanks! Its natural? Wow I didn't notice lol. Thanks!
  14. Oh ok. I still have some extra epoxy maybe I can test it out snd post here again
  15. The reef safe Epoxy is super duper smelly, and saying that is simply an understatement. I used some(or tried :S) and it took 20 minutes to set underwater. Best part is when I lifted up the rock to see powder flying everywhere and broken epoxy all over the rocks. Never again...
  16. Done! Its not so easy to see what I have done but I hope you get the idea.... Fts: Bts: Front close ups: (The cave) (The other side) Back tank shot closeups: (The back of the cave) (Back of the hill thing) I also found this nice little tubeworm who unfortunately wont survive cycling
  17. I finished rescaping the tank to my preference. The water became cloudy again (sigh) so I'll take a photo tomorrow morning
  18. I won't be updating much during the cycle time there's gonna be a wait! Ooh haha nice to see another reefer whose gonna make a tank of this size. I haven't seen anyone else with a tank this size Of course I am It took so long for the tank to be finalized and arrive
  19. now that I look at it it looks similsr to a barnacle. Its not dangerous anyway
  20. Sorry for slow updates! I was very busy cleaning up the mess. More photos: this is the sump window. Theres already some macro algae given by iwarna the vertex skimmer. It has been barely 6 hours and the skimmer is already skimming out lots of skimate. Its impressive. I guess thats what you can expect with a german skimmer This is the front sump shot. The cabinet has doors on the front and the back so theres also gonna be a back tank shot. Im sure you can see I am using a 1/4 hailea chiller. I know its pushing the limit for the chiller but I guess its ok for now thats the back sump shot. Theres a fluid reactor running rowaphos and a jebao 9000 pump leading to the main tank, and a smaller pump(idk what brans) leading to the fluid reactor this is the front tank shot. I havent rescaped yet thats the back tank shot.
  21. this is the side fts which Justin's (from iwarna) did. (THANKS ) Im gonna edit it to my preference amd maybe rescape, and take more photos of it when the water is less cloudy
  22. YIPPEE! The cabinet fit through the door!
