  1. Can also. All have little bioload Chromis is a schooling fish so if your tank has space can get more and will have very nice effect when they try to avoid (or come to) you can try get other schooling fish also but must make sure have space! Oh and if you have turbo snails must make sure they have some algae to feed on! I have heard of them dying in super clean SPS tanks due to a lack of algae. Usually home aquariums should have enough algae
  2. his last activity on this forum was in September, so he may be avoiding it completely now haha. I guess the comments here won't be passed on to him, but I hope any new members who come across this thread would learn that being stubborn, insulting other members and not imparting moral values would make other reefers lose respect for you, and not want to help you Dream big, achieve bigger
  3. Hey dreams, if you haven't left this forum forever, do you mind posting pictures of your tank (currently). Maybe we could still advise you on your tank(if you're open to suggestions and constructive criticism that is) Dream big, achieve bigger
  4. haha mussel is quite ex and need a lot of $$$ in long term But if you have a slightly bigger budget you can use mussel as a staple diet. If I'm not wrong, both of them have about the same nutritional value though, that's why I still use prawn haha Dream big, achieve bigger
  5. woah bro slow down tangs poo a lot so you should try only one first. You could in the meantime get a goby, some smaller fish like fire fish or some crustaceans. By getting 2 powder blues (or pacific haha) you're increasing your bioload very fast. You can take the risk but IMHO it's not worth it
  6. oh ok then I'll just wait and see when the thread starter responds Dream big, achieve bigger
  7. woah that stinks what happened? Upgrade or quit?
  8. Wow bro your tank damn power sia. JELOUS. I'm betting a future totq on you don't disappoint me haha Dream big, achieve bigger
  9. Hi Dreams, I know you just started this hobby and it's a little confusing to you (and also dis encouraging with all the comments) but try to relax a bit kay? Take everyone's comments subjectively, and don't be stubborn Think for yourself. I'm not gonna directly say that you should trust only Internet or lfs, but you should trust yourself. Research before you buy ANY fish, and think of moral values before you do anything, like put in fish before cycling. The lfs makes money out of people like you by selling you fish when you don't need it. The fish could have lived, but they got the one or two dollars from you in turn for their lives. The live rock was sufficient for you to cycle your rocks. I'm also not saying that all the lfs is bad or anything, but they are in the hobby for different reasons from reefers(money vs passion) and there's definitely some lfs that do it for passion too. Think subjectively and take everyone's advice with a pinch of salt I have seen from this thread and some other threads you started or commented in, that you can be rude sometimes. I'm not putting you down but if you want people to respect you, you have to respect them too. Instead of insulting people when you don't agree with them, try using logical arguments and explain why you don't agree with them. If you don't want to bother coming up with an argument, it would be better to plainly ignore them then to insult them. Your respect in this hobby is at stake when you insult people, and I hope you understand that. And guys just because he is not heeding our advice it doesn't mean that we must act immaturely right? This is a hobby we all do out of passion I hope we all know how to be friendly to each other, no matter how unreasonable the other person is. I hope we all can approach dreams with a good start and not so aggressively, and I hope he would learn not to be so stubborn and rude Btw everyone can see what you do on the Internet, and it would affect your reputation anywhere you go. It's best if we communicate reasonably, logically and with respect Dream big, achieve bigger
  10. the spearer has a pike or sword thing on his arm to stab into it's prey. A clubbed has a "mace" like arm it uses to smash against it's prey very very hard until it's shell or protection breaks Dream big, achieve bigger
  11. good! it's already 3weeks since you started so your cycle is most likely over already. Any new stocking plans now? Dream big, achieve bigger
  12. if you have a bleached anemone, you HAVE to feed it something, preferably market prawns. What do you feed (or plan to feed) it? If you don't feed it it will start "melting" and your tank will smell worse than shit(trust me, been there before:() so you should start trying to feed it. Did you acclimate it too? If you didn't it may be shrunk due to light shock or the wrong concentration of salt in its body(so it's struggling to maintain it's chemistry without dying) hope what I said helps and your anemone gets better soon! If your anemone is recovering it will gain more color and open up more, and also have a "fleshier" look to it Dream big, achieve bigger
  13. wow nice. Haha from the perspective of the photo I initially thought it was some Godzilla kind of monster coming out of the sea xD so glad it's not Dream big, achieve bigger
  14. thanks for the reply bro! You definitely helped me with the information you provided me! I'll use it when I get my frogfish. Maybe I'll feed it mollies on a regular basis and clownfish as a treat when I go to the lfs to buy fish and corals!
  15. Hey bro, awesome tank you have there! Love it I have a tip you could use for photography get a flat piece of acrylic (black would be best) and use it to create a background for the photo. That way you won't have the things that you're not trying to show, like the wave maker, in the photo. I use this for all sorts of photography, and it works as long as the sheet is completely covering the background you could buy the 0.3mm acrylic from arts and friends. It's light to use and easy to handle. Hope you find this helpful!
  16. Oh nice thanks for the input For 2) I have to ask a question though. I have read and heard from a lot of places that freshwater fish aren't good feeder fish for saltwater predators, cause they don't provide the needed carbohydrates. How fat is your fish? Is it thriving or surviving? Dream big, achieve bigger
  17. Hi guys, I would like to know the feasibility of setting up a nano tank with a frogfish in it. I'm gonna put in some zoa frags to grow so there would be a chiller along with the tank. The tank is a non standard sized tank which is about 24 gallons +-5, with an ios. I'll also add a skimmer when the time comes Could any frogfish pros also update me on the acceptable feeding regime of the frogfish, and the type of food you feed (or fed) them? I'm really interested to keep the warty frogfish! They're such cool fish. Thanks
  18. yeah the power consumption is crazily high compared to LEDs. I'm still sitting on the fence on what kind of light to get :/ but if I think it would most likely be LEDs haha they seem like the best option for me now Dream big, achieve bigger
  19. Hi guys, I was looking through a lot of websites, and I thought maybe it would be good it I have metal halides and LEDs for the tank. What do you guys feel about this and what metal halide brands are better than the others(and affordable too) Dream big, achieve bigger
  20. Any Metal fans around here? haha

  21. Alrite! I'm gonna set it up around Mid Nov btw I'll post a topic about it then Dream big, achieve bigger
  22. Second Third time setting up though I'm switching tanks due to lousy equipment and a lack of space. My current tank looks terrible due to a lack of time for maintainance (O's coming soon :/) so I have no choice haha. Thanks for asking! Dream big, achieve bigger
  23. I have not much experience with them, but one fish you should avoid for beginners is the fox fish, mainly cos it is poisonous. You could try the rest, as everyone has to start from somewhere! I guess the easiest to keep from your list would be the blue tang, but be sure to have some ick medicine on hand. Try to keep the blue tang for about 3 weeks to a month before you try to add more fish. This will help you gauge the care level needed to keep them others alive. Dream big, achieve bigger
