  1. the triton sump has arrived. Im not sure if the tank would fit throught the door though :/
  2. Hi guys, the 4ftx2.5fx2ft is arriving later today within the next hour! Ill make sure its image intensive so watch out I plan to make it a mix reef tank, with no coral focus in mind. Probably keeping softies, lps, sps, and maybe even nps, and not to forget fishes too!
  3. I wont use them cos land shells are usually colored. This coloring blocks some pores in the shells and is slowly absorbed by the crab. It isnt good for them
  4. If your overflow is making noise it means that air is being sucked into it along with the water, or your water is cascading and not flowing down it. For condensation, I know that the pproblem would be too thin glass but im not sure how to fix it. Maybe you couls try one of those new hydrophobic silicon products in the market to prevemt condensation?
  5. Eh im not a fan of the government's unnecessary bans but this has been done for a reason. If its gonna become mainstream to get from Malaysia, tthere's gonna be an issue to wildlife
  6. Oh ok lol my current shells are from there too, but I didnt know if it was ok or not. Thanks!
  7. Hi all, where do you get shells for hermit crabs from? Idk if its legal to take from the beach, though id prefer doing that
  8. Gorilla crab ;) Jkjk probably pom pom crab or thin stripped hermit
  9. Permit is only for selling i think... but I do know that species like seahorses will be confiscated if imported, cos theyre banned. If not then can try lor haha. If you do, do post the experience here. Ill be interested to see how it goes
  10. Tried feeding nori too. Unfortunately its too late now the extra heat from the sunlight caused multiple casualities among the residents, including the algae blenny
  11. In my opinion you should only dose a trace element if it depletes and if you see positive growth due to it
  12. Nice tank! Is the current of water in it strong enough? And the emperor will grow much bigger much faster. Even at this juvinile size your tank is still too small
  13. lol not bully lah just curious cos I have seen you post everywhere recently haha
  14. could be correlation not causation. I don't see how adding a land herb magically cures ich, without side effects on the fish. Garlic also has been condemned more recently due to it's effect on the fish immune system, so ginger may be no different. But hey, if you're willing to take the risk then do it and post your findings! It would be good if someone found out if what he said is true(or not)
  15. I just found the exact crab species while browsing through a hitchhiker guide: http://www.chucksaddiction.com/coral_crabs-1.html It's also known as the brown guard crab. Hope you find this useful
  16. sometimes it's better if you really really want the fish, cos there is a much higher chance of survival. Usually lfs get from recent shipment so no guarantee for survival, especially for beginners. Higher chance of death from lfs than from reefers IMHO
  17. lol bro no need approve lah just asking haha
  18. Zebra damsels are naturally more aggressive. Blue damsels in my experience very passive fish. Will only defend itself, but won't attack. Velvet blue is a bit aggressive though. But it all boils down to personality lah. If you buy aggressive fish then you have bad luck haha. Best if buy from reefers here. They will know the fish personality
  19. lol I didn't know cos I never had to use it when I had less than 100 posts
  20. Lol you finally have enough posts to post here?
  21. 20g maybe clownfish also can, as long as not maroons, clarkis or other aggressive breeds. Damsel a blue damselfish would be nice. I have a blue damsel and a blue velvet damsel and both don't seem to be attacking each other, but it's probably my luck haha
  22. What I heard is that led emit a lot of light which you can't see properly, as it is lower wavelength, but the corals usually are not so affected by them.
  23. no. Tangs don't seem to notice tank size when growing. Will definitely grow big an when it does you'll probably feel too attached to it to let it go.
  24. I like your set up. Thought it was mangrove at first until I saw that it was driftwood. Nice illusion!
