Agent Green utilizes calcium to conduct the three-part ion exchange along with phosphate and the lanthanum chloride. Agent Green will not be effective with little-to-no calcium in the water. Application Adhere strictly to the instructions of 1ppm daily removal of phosphate with Agent Green. With a standard medicine dropper, dose 1ml per 38L (10 gal) into a high flow area of the aquarium. This is equal to approximately 2 drops per 3.78 L (1 gal). It is important to add to a high flow area of the aquarium to ensure maximum dispersal of Agent Green. Upon dosing, a visible smoke effect should be seen in the water. If no smoke effect is present, the water column is lacking sufficient calcium for phosphate removal. This usually occurs in freshwater systems that have no calcium buffering. Additional Tips And Considerations A handful of crushed sea shells or oyster shells per 95 L (25 gal) in a freshwater aquarium will help to keep calcium buffered to useful levels for phosphate removal with Agent Green Reef aquariums should always make sure calcium is not at such low levels that a slight drop in calcium will affect their corals.
