  1. You can just get them from the hardware shops selling the pipes...
  2. I never got bitten before - I just read some forumers elsewhere that they were badly bitten by them but their bristle worms are big ones...
  3. Lol... So far so good... No sign of any yet. Hope it'll stay that way.
  4. Wah... So many hitchhikers.. Looks like you hit the jackpot! Hope you got all of them. Bristle worms can bite if you are not careful while doing WC...
  5. Yeah... I read that they can be anywhere... sand, rocks, corals... As long as they can hide and ambush unsuspecting prey...
  6. I was lucky, I managed to see those worms and caught them...
  7. My nitrates seems to be ok... No algae boom and tests also ok. But if it's so I hope my 50% WC has helped. My nitrates seems to be ok... No algae boom and tests also ok. But if it's so I hope my 50% WC has helped.
  8. I just got a sponge from cf for 6 bucks...
  9. Anybody used Para Guard by Seachem to treat ich? Any success stories to share?
  10. I have the same problem with you so IMO, I just place the LRs in my refugium. Chaeto is good to have but I think it's not a must since you'll be doing WC periodically anyway so I left them out. You can also use smaller LRs for your refugium and make another compartment there for your chaetos if you like... Above is just my opinion only...
  11. By the way, I did a 50% WC to dilute the toxins if it's really there...
  12. Hmmm... Very strange. Anyone have any similar experience?
  13. Bro, did your fishes die all at the same time or one by one? Mine is like one dying every other day...
  14. Wah... That is unfortunate. I hope mine is ok. Many other fishes still alive for the last few days...
  15. By the way, there are many sump designs so I think you should google and select the best for your use. Mine is the simplest with the flow from left to right and the DSB in the middle.
  16. Sorry, my mistake, my overflow is actually 1 inch. Are you using all rigid pipes like mine? If yes, you should require: 1.) a check valve to prevent back flow if your outlet to the DT is below the water level. Otherwise you'll have a mess if you turn the return pump off, 2.) a regulating valve so if you get a bigger pump you can still adjust the flow to match the overflow rate, 3.) a union or 2 depending on your pipe design for dismantling and maintenance if necessary. My pump is order online from China so I doubt you can find it here. One draw back of using a submersible pump is the heat generated by it. I'm using it b'coz I cannot find a external pump small enough for my use. So if you happen to use a slightly bigger pump, you should increase the size of the overflow to 1 and half inch. Above is just my opinion. You study and improve on it further.
  17. Here is a pic of my sump... My silicon skill was not that good so it's a little messy...
  18. I used the method from this YouTube video http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Cmhu7uxPIm4 Most of them are similar but this guy has the best explanation.
  19. Hmm... Dunno if that's the reason a few of my carnivorous fishes died. How did you get your system running again? Do WC only?
  20. My tank is 200L and I DIY my sumo and my overflow. No LFS carries ready made small sump of less than 3 ft. I used a 2ft acrylic tank for my sump. I bought some pre-cut acrylic sheets from a local hardware shop for about 20 bucks and siliconed them. There are many sump designs so you have to scour around external forums for the design. I'll try to take a picture of my sump for you if I have the time. My sump consists of a protein skimmer chamber, DSB chamber and a return pump chamber. My overflow is half inch grey PVC pipes and my return pump is 1500L/H. Nobody sells black PVC pipes so you'll need to paint them is you want it black and this sizing works fine for me. Hope the above will help you.
  21. Hmm... Quite difficult to remove the dead puffer - it's deep inside some LRs right behind the tank.
  22. That's good news... Do you know if other fishes will die if they have eaten the dog face?
