  1. It would be easier to use hypo method and it is more effective. But for hyper salinity to work, you'll probably be killing everything in the LR since you'll need to be twice the normal salinity - plus you'll need to make sure you wash the excess salt off the rock before you use it else you'll add to the salinity if you are not careful.
  2. Bro... Should be hypo salinity... ie make water less salty or less than 1.009 to force the unwanted critters out...
  3. It happens all the time Bro... But sometimes it'll just appear out of nowhere...
  4. Yeah... The salinity will damage your TV top.
  5. I had the same but it just won't stay put... It'll float around with the flow from the wave maker stressing my fishes so I've got no choice but to dispose it... "sigh"
  6. Haiz... No wonder... Thanks Bros...
  7. Do you have to acclimatize anemone like fishes?
  8. I think you should cover your top off tank but not your DT unless you are using a chiller. There should at least be some air exchange from the surface water of your tank to allow some heat to escape. In my experience I found that my return pump was contributing to the heat load in my DT so I replaced the lid to my DT with a perforated one and the temp reduced by 1 DegC.
  9. Bro... Evaporation is cannot be prevented at all so top up is also required. It's a matter of how fast or slow is the evaporation. My top off is using a optical sensor. IMO wavemaker should be used to circulate the water and mimic the natural condition of the ocean...
  10. Bro... Read that sea hare will be toxic when it dies... Is this true?
  11. Saw many of these at cf recently...
  12. Bro... Do you have a photo of the outlet pipe? Quite difficult to visualize your setup leh...
  13. I got the a knobby one for less than 10 bucks from cf a few days ago...
  14. Bro, can this gravel vac be used for sand? I thought of getting one but the one I found is batt operated and the batt is not standard type...
  15. There is a electric calculator in the forum. Just key in the power ratings and the usage of your equipment and it'll tell your estimated electricity bill...
  16. It's normal to have cloudy water during cycling... It should clear up in a few days time. Let the prawn slow rot and disintegrate... You should have good circulation during cycling but I'm not too sure what kinda LS you'll have after cycling but a moderate flow is normally sufficient.
  17. I have tried but it makes the water more smelly than other types of food if you over feed...
  18. My tank used to be around 30 DegC but my Angels and other fishes kept dying one after another till I brought the temp down... Hope you'll have better luck...
  19. No use blowing into the sump unless your sump is not housed in the cabinet. My tank is 3ft only so I'm using Boyu FS 55 which is a small fan...
  20. Maybe you can try a bigger fan for the DT. I can get my temp down to about 27.5 to 28 DegC.
  21. Wow, totally different color. Thanks for the heads up bro. Do let us know if the real product works.
