I have a 3x1.5x2 FOWLR tank maintained at 26.5 to 27 DegC for about a year now but I still cannot see any coraline algae from growing. I did I not any additives to promote their growth but I actually have a LR with coraline and I tried to scrap off some of it to promote seeding...
Any bros can advice...?
I think only certain types of sea stars will eat Zoas coz my blue star has been with my Zoas for a long time and nottin happened...
Not sure if my assumption is right though...
Anyone senior reefers know...?
I cannot remember... I think the instruction says that you can dose to the DT but only for 5 days in a row.
I used it consecutively for 20 days and I think it killed of my good bacteria too.... Now I let my tank stabilize for a few months and I'll try again but for 5 days in a row only...
I'm using Paraguard but u cannot dose into your DT consecutively for many days - tank will crash. I can't say it's good but at least it's useful to keep the LS alive longer...
I have asked some suppliers before but none of them willing to provide cutting and drilling services except if you just want to reduce the length for ease of transportation.
Ideally the top off water should have the same quality as what you would use to mix your salt water.
I just cover top off container to prevent mosquito breeding and also dust from collecting in my container.
Bro, it is also necessary to know what can be taken out of the country... Some countries will impose heavy fines and it is considered smuggling if you bring marine LS out especially endangered species.
Bro... Not sure whether your tank is ready after only 2 weeks of cycling. Normally tank require about a month to cycle and stabilize although some Bros here claim that their tank can be cycled in less than a month...
I suggest you read up on tank cycling in this forum... Many seniors have shared their experiences there... I think most Bros will tell you to be that patience is the key...
Happy Reefing...!
