Thanks bro. I like your blue mushrooms in your tank. Very chiao. Yes it is air driven. It uses a wooden air stone by Sander (need to replace its original) and an external air pump. There is a version that has a air pump on the unit. I get my air supply from a heavy duty pump that drives my other tanks. The skim mate has been darker ever since and nitrate now is less than 10ppm in between water changes. I also noticed that I need to change the air stone less frequent now for whatever reasons.

Maybe a photo of your 1st compartment is better than a thousand words. Also how do you filter out any chaeto debris that might go into 2nd compartment? Do you have your lights at the side of the tank?

I would not direct the air con outlet on the tank or water surface. Can't under estimate it's cooling effects. Have seen one cooling a 4ft SPS tank without a chiller. Already excited to see your new nano tank. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free

Good choice of dimensions. Shallow and wide, very workable tank. Easy access, allows generous placements. A black background brings out the good contrast as well.

Continued sharing of my humble pico journey.... Added a fan and thermometer, most of the time not used. Day temperature hovering around 27-28degC. With the fan and air-con, it can bring down the temperature to 25-27degC if required. Added an earthing probe to eliminate some stray currents in the tank. Also added more SPS frags from some nice fellow reefers. Here's a daylight shot... Thanks for viewing.
