  1. Thanks for the feedback bro! Yes I also think the previous one was better! Maybe will do a rescape soon. Need to find time to do it. I have been reluctant to shift the rocks cause each time I do, sand goes flying everywhere! But maybe it's time!!
  2. Hi Patrick Thanks! If I identify it correctly, I think they are sun corals. Look super nice but only opens up in the evening/night time.
  3. Not much at sealife. Was there at about 6pm this evening. They had one pink coco worm that was very nice.
  4. Bro little burger Thanks for the heads up and advice. Yeah agree that the pumps in the skimmer are more than sufficient. What I was meaning was the section/compartment in the sump. I was not sure if I wanted to tee into the sump compartment or refugium compartment.. Sorry wasn't clear enough.. Paiseh
  5. Bro Evolutionz Try hai Cheong plastics. I got all my pvc fittings and pipings from them. They got outlet at paya ubi and kallang. Highly recommend. 25mm Tee I got from them. They also have reducers not sure of the size though.
  6. Giving the above. The clowns and YT damsel were giving to me by another kind reefer. Really want to keep them but the clowns are too big for my tank. Want to give them a better home. One maroon clown has white stripes the other has gold stripes. Collection at Tampines.
  7. Dear reefers and fellow seniors Thank you very much for all the help! Been quite a while since the last update as was busy converting my canisters into a sump. Did the diy overflow and plumbings to my DT. Got a very good deal for all the LPS from bro Hakusho here. Thank you very much. Still having problems with diatoms but no other algae spotted. Corals are opening up nicely one day after placing in tank. FTS Hoping to add more red/pink/purple corals just to have colour contrast. Any suggestions? Cheers!
  8. Thank you all for the pointers/tips/advice and help. I managed to diy the entire overflow and plumbing to the sump. Did it initially with a 0.5" PVC but realise that the flow was way too low so I made another with 1" PVC with 0.5" return tap off to refugium and DT. So far it has been running great! Done numerous power cut check and the siphon restarts without a problem.
  9. Dear reefers Anyone has? Preferably in the east or north east please. Let me know! Many thanks
  10. Just to share. I was looking pvc pipings and fittings to build my own overflow for my tank. Would highly recommend Hai Cheong Plastics. They have two outlets one at kallang and one at paya ubi. I got all my pipings and fittings from them. The staff at ubi was extremely helpful as well. They also have FIP ball valves and check valves. Just sharing! Cheers
  11. Using the same salt! Not much experience with others but I would say it takes less to get the acquired salinity compared to other brands of salt..
  12. Looking for a filter sick holder. Anyone? Let me know please. Many thanks
  13. I'm trying to do the same. I've been thinking. A) Pump - T-joint - chiller return and ball valve - refugium pump - T-joint - chiller return and ball valve and skimmer Which would be better? The output of 1260 is 3/4" right? Which pipe would fit and which ball valves would fit? Bro Evolutionz I read that having a ball valve after the tee off to the refug or skimmer would be good as we can control the flow and would not damage the pump. Thanks!
  14. Bro artxkakis You mean those aqua lifters? Where did you get yours?
  15. Saw a low profile 4ft fish tank at block 151 Tampines. Directly opposite Tampines mall. It was place next to the lift landing. Not sure it is working or not. Just informing so don't start asking me questions please.
  16. Dear reefers Looking for a return pump for my sump. Need at least 600GPH flow rate. Please let me know if any at 9two2three4three9three. Many thanks Ken
  17. Bro megacue! Thanks for the pointer. Guess we would need a more powerful pump than that. Any pumps to recommend?
  18. Thank you very much bro ashwin! Waiting on your frags! Lol.. Just kidding.. Yes. Planning to run rowaphos. What about goodbye po4? Is it effective? I'm upgrading to a sump! Stupid canister giving me too much headache.
  19. Quick update. Diatoms are slowing down and hope they will be gone soon. The 2 astrea, 1 turbo and 3 bumblebee are doing a good job I must say. I also got a peppermint shrimp. If you have aiptasia problem, please get this guy. The moment he entered the tank he pounced and yanked the entire aiptasia out! Amazing.. I got a good deal on a DIY sump. So I just learnt and constructed my own PVC overflow. Will put up some pictures once running. It has to pass leak test first. Cheerios!
  20. I took the plunge and went for it today! I bought 5.5feet of PVC pipes and a whole bunch of elbows. Cut everything using a PVC cutter which I got for $8 bucks and glued everything together with PVC cement. Total Cost including glue and cutter is about $21. That's a fraction compared to the cost of an overflow box. It's curing now but I must say it's not difficult to do.. Will do a leak test once I get the time. Thank you very much everyone for giving me the advice which I needed.. I've got some other questions now: a) how do I drill the hole for the check valve and air line? Is it necessary? if I'm using a 1/2" pipe, what size of hose should I get and what about the return size? c) how do I I fix the ball valve to the pipe? The pipe seems loose in te ball valve. It's the right size I have double checked. c) I searched and estimate that the 1/2" inch overflow would generate about 300+ GPH after losses. I am planning to tee off the return to my chiller and the skimmer compartment of my sump once more. What size of return pump should I be getting? Should I get and external or internal pump? Thank you everyone once more!
