You forgot one question the judge asked Miss Spore, "Which part of your boby you like best?" She answered " My Nipples".....she actually meant "Dimples"

NO - Normal Output HO - High Output referring to the power of the bulbs I also noted that you are using normal lighting which is not for specific use for marine, like the FL and MH, just share with you that the lumens and PAR are not the same and your corals may not bloom like they are supposed to due to differences in lighting specs. Lighting makes up about 75% of the corals' food and is therefore important for their survival. Other than that your tank set up looks great.

Dark Greenish jade like bubble just burst
Marineman replied to GodFather's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
If you take them out, make sure you don't break them otherwise it will spread! -
First pic is a dying goniopora, most of them are already dead, it is a dead coral and not a LR as such. Second pic, a feather duster, tough to keep, requires expert care and regular feeding of plamktonic food to survive.

No an easy to keep coral, most will last a few months and will die off gradually, no one has come up with any concrete study on how to keep this beautiful coral successfully, it depends on your luck, some reefers tank can keep this coral for years while most reefers tank cannot, no specific reason(s) on either case.

I had used Coralife kalkwasser (2 years) and now using Aquaz (5 months), cannot really tell the difference. my coraline algae grows quite fast. The only differences are price, Aquaz is much cheaper and the the residue after mixing, Aquaz is negligible while Coralife has a little more residue. I don't use a CA Reactor, I sue kalkwasser for top up under the slurried method, a quarter to a third tea spoonful to 2.5 liters of RO water every 2 days. Premix for a few hours andp our the whole lot in after lights out. Been doing this for more than 2 years, no problem.

You can feed every 7 or 14 days once, when hungry the bubble tips will appear, maybe you feed too much. I have read this from my search in wetwebmedia.

Help!! How to get yuma to stick to another rock?
Marineman replied to RAV-65's topic in Soft Coral Forum
You should fill a small 3' diameter cup with sand so that the yuma does not stick to the glass, and put it on top of same small pieces of LR, it should stick soon. -
I like your imposing and intimidating picture. I think you are Batman, Robin and Joker all in one!

Recommednation UV Steriliser
Marineman replied to cjack's topic in Disease treatment/parasite/pest control
Ya, somtimes cannot tell difference. I think the key is to use the CORRECT WATER FLOW RATE for it to be effective. too fast, kills little parasite, better to be slow. UV kills both good and bad bacterias in your tank. Now I that I have the correct flowrate, 18watts at 500 ltr per hour, if I remember correctly, I will use it when introducing new fishes after giving them a FW dip. -
Something which I hope can make you realise the results from for your rash reactions, sometimes: NAIL IN THE FENCE Make sure you read all the way down to the last sentence. (Most importantly the last sentence.) There once was a little boy who had a bad temper. His Father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, he must hammer a nail into the back of the fence. The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. Over the next few weeks, as he learned to control his anger, the number of nails hammered daily gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence. Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all. He told his father about it and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper. The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone. The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence. He said, "You have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one. You can put a knife in a man and draw it out. It won't matter how many times you say I'm sorry, the wound is still there. " A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one. Friends are very rare jewels, indeed. They make you smile and encourage you to succeed. They lend an ear, they share words of praise and they always want to open their hearts to us."

Same thing. I am very sure it is not the timer, even when the timer is on, it still happens (on/off) and the timer is working. Maybe when it gets too hot it goes off and once it cools down, it comes on again. This happens to only one bulb and it is not the bulb as I used the bulb for a temp replacement MH system and it works fine.

I had a 4 ft Acardia MH system, a few months ago one of my MH went off with the other still running, I switched the set off and switched on again after 15 minutes (to let it cool down first), both lights came on. Afew weeks ago, the same thing happened and I just ignored it, I noticed that the MH came on again automatically and then after a while off again and the on again and so on. It's not the bulb or the timer for sure. I sent it back to the dealer and they could not pin point the problem as the MH was on all the time at their workshop. I took it back and now 10 days later the same problem arises. Guys, any idea what's wrong with it? Ballast?

Watch out guys, like PCK says " Don't pray pray" when Batman is around! Congrats Batman on your appointment as a Moderator, long overdue already.

Looks like you had a good time at the zoo handling and playing with all the animals, if you get the job, you will be handling humans who are more complicated animals than those at the zoo! Know what is like without a job, initially fun with plenty of free time. after a while you get bored etc etc, don't have to tell you this as you have been through it all, so good luck with your interview and hopes it goes well. BTW don't monkey around suring an interview, be a lion and an elephant to impress your interviewers!

In my case, I was told by the IT shop to pull out the power connection from the router and reconnect it again, it works for me, have a try, no harm.

Mainebetta's Amphiprion percula - first spawn
Marineman replied to marinebetta's topic in General Reefkeeping_
wow! hats off to your dedication, must be a wonderful and exciting but not forgeting, enjoyable period for you, just like caring for a newborn. -
I thought atinic is blue and there is no kelvin measurement. Problue has 10k and 20k, I think, but looks white with slight tint of blue.

If you have a holding tank or big tub filled up with the old aquarium water and use the pump to blow off the detritus.

Bro, You are not the only one who sufferred, me too. My maid accidentally switched off the chiller while cleaning, she had been with us for 2 years already. Temp shot to 34C, my favourite fishes died, the dead list, 2 bartletts, blackcap, flame, mandarin, 2 cleaners, corals, pancora hammer grown from 5 branches to more than 40 in 2 years, all gone, red striped prata, some yumas. Survivors are YT, PT, BT, royal gramma, percula, longnose hawkfish, algae and bicolour blenny. I will now take the opportunity to rescape/reset my tank before adding more livestock again and get a temp probe to monitor the temp and cuts off the MH when temp reaches 30C. My office tank's power was cut off (thunder and lighting) at 2.30pm on Sunday, found out on Monday 9.30 am, luckily no casualties, temp was 30C, my UPS backed up by car battery for my return eheim 1262 pump probably lasted about 9 hours could have save the day.

As long as he is mad about fishes and crazy for you is OK, with all the blue light, your nemo will be sleeping all the time and must be thinking that the world had changed and there is no more sun AT, at the rate this thread is progressing, I suggest you do a promo to get more chicks becoming members and slowly begin to charge a yearly fee, I think you find this site more interesitng any SDU sites!! It hits more than 1500 times, no pictures, just a heading "any FEMALE...here", yet some reefers who painstaking take pictures of their tank and share with all reefers here get a lot less hits that this one, I am jealous! ha ha ha ha ha ha

I have all together 10 tubes of Aquaz, 2 3ft atinics for already 8 months on for 12 hours a day, still blue up till today. The other 8 4 ft tubes, 2 Atinic and 6 Pro Blue used since January this year for another tank, glad to say there is no change in colour, I use Elbiru ballasts. Better check with your supplier and ask for refund or replacement if I were you. If goods are returned at least Aquaz manufacturer can look into your problem, maybe manufacturing default for your batch, I am sure Aquaz will be happy to replace your friend and your's faulty tubes. I believe this is the second time you have highlighted your problem with Aquaz products, the first was some other Aquaz product which you suspected your SPS RTN because of it but only a maybe. Anyway, your lighting case is a clear cut problem with the tubes, better get them replaced.
