Wah... 2-3 times a week! I MUST find a skimmer. Yeah... Currently 30 degree Celsius.

Due to miscalculation, I ended up with a spare Skimz iBox Nano IOS Tank (only). So I thought to myself… What the heck… If they can make these things so small, there must be some kind of reef that could to kept. So start my Nano/Pico tank adventures... Dimensions: W180mm x D225mm x H245mm Pump: Dymax PH200 (5W, 200 liters/hr, 5-10 liters) Light: Hopar LED-200 (Blue+White, 3W, 21 LED) Before Setup After Setup Found a small skimmer but not small enough to fit into the IOS compartment… Will continue searching probably will go for those limewood type. Considering using LIVE rocks to cycle. Please hit me with all the necessary wisdom to make this work. Thank you.

Totally agree. Considering live rocks or coral chips... Any thoughts? -

Just to update, I have taken the advise to replace 2 skimmer with 1 bigger skimmer and removed the cannister filter. Picture of my revamped sump. -
WTS: Skimmer - Red Sea Prizm Deluxe / Bubble Magus NAC QQ
Boonboy replied to Boonboy's topic in Sell off/Pasar Malam Shop
The missing parts for the Bubble Magus NAC QQ are circled in red. 1. mounting screw - can still mount but will slide left and right 2. sand guard - prevent stuff from getting sucked into the pump -
Yes, I also agreed. I have something similar too and it attacked and destroyed my zoanthids (at night). It should be brown/yellow in color. Remove it.

Currently, I am running these 2 skimmers and would like to upgrade to 1 bigger skimmer. 1. Red Sea Prizm - $100 Purchased this first hand in April 2013 http://www.redseafish.com/index.aspx?id=4387 2. Bubble Magus NAC - QQ - $30 Purchased this 2nd hand in July 2013 Note: missing sand cover and mount screw. This is how it should look like. Collection at Woodlands. Apologize for the poorly taken pictures.

Yesterday when I was feed, I was surprised that my six line did not come out for food. Guess where I found it... -

Heh, you got it the same day as me. Did you get it at the same place? Post a pic(if you like). Mine seems slightly bleached. Hoping it will eat and perk up soon. -

Thanks... That's my cheapo way. Ha ha... Okay, will try to find salt water prawns in the market. Tried mysis just now. I think it is eating but my sixline is stealing from it. Any idea how to stop that sixline? -

I think I have been there to browse before but did not know that is "Ah Beng". When you enter I believe you see the display tank on your left and packing/cash counter on your right. Corals left, fishes right. -

Keith - I got it from CF at 1xblue & 1xred. Angmoh - Color was nicer at the farm. Tried to target feed mysis but it did not eat. Was still moving when I took the picture. Bombom - I still trying to figure out where is Ah Beng. It is at Pasir Ris but which one? -

Okay, then I should keep them. They are difficult to locate as they only come out after the lights go out. -

Thank you for the link. "The foam discharge zones of skimmers behave towards the protein-containing surfaces of an aquarium comparable to the resistance towards the discharge of the water The ideal skimmer thus would have an extremely low resistance" Fortunately the 2 skimmers in my setup does not share the same "protein-containing surfaces" as one is in the sump and the other is in the display tank. The article recommends to replace both skimmer with a bigger one. That will definitely be considered if I ever were to upgrade my tank. Thanks again. -

Hi, I need some advise. I am considering a RBTA to host my pair of true percula. 1. Where can I get one? 2. How big should I get it? 3. How much will it cost? Thank you. Tok Woon Boon -

Actually, I have been running the Red Sea Prizm skimmer all the while. Recently added the Bubble Magus NAC QQ in the sump. I thought having 2 skimmer is better overall… Can explain why the efficiency of both skimmers will be reduced?
