  1. I'm sorry to say this but I think you need to look into your husbandry skills and read up more on maintaining a marine pico tank. It's not that difficult but requires some dedication. Frankly a 10 liters volume is too small to contain 3 clown fish. Relying on merely an air pump to move water for this setup is definitely non-ideal and may not culture sufficient beneficial bacteria. In my opinion, a hang-on-back filter with a motorized pump that moves at least 3-4 times the tank volume per hour eg. about 40 liters/hour, is the bare minimum. It may be 2 months already but the 5% water change is not effective. Did you measure the salinity everytime you changed the water to ensure it's the same? For small volume tanks, any small fluctuations are highly magnified. I'm positive there are problems with some of your water parameters eg. high nitrates, causing stress to your clown fish. The 2 clowns might have died from brooklynella disease but they could have likely died from stress brought about by the unstable tank conditions. Your mushrooms are also suffering under the same tank conditions, and unless you address the non-ideal water conditions, everything you add in will be stressed and will die sooner, than later. As all the bros here advised, don't add any livestock as of now. My advice is don't do any more water changes for the time being but instead do a measurement of your water parameters eg. pH, salinity, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate levels, and post it here. Unless we all know what is the problem, we can't really help you.
  2. How were they when you bought them? When and how did they deteriorate? Where were they placed originally when you noticed the damages? Any corals nearby and what fishes do you have? What are your water parameter readings? Did you move them to high, medium or low flow areas?
  3. Can provide some information and possibly photos eg. when was it set up, is water cycled, what's the livestock, when were gsp and mushrooms introduced to the tank, any recent water changes, dosing or additions? It's hard to comment based on the above.
  4. I love the rock works and there are many spots for coral placements. Excellent! Am I seeing some diatoms towards the back of the tank in the last photo?
  5. Can someone advise where we can get exquisite Yuma mushrooms?
  6. I hate to dampen your enthusiasm, but I don't think it's advisable to have a hammer, torch, frogspawn or bubble coral in your setup, even though they are so so pretty. These corals need more space and they also have stinging tentacles that may harm your other livestock or adjacent corals. They are quite sensitive to changes in water parameters in small setups and are also prone to brown jelly disease and if it dies suddenly, it may pollute your water quickly although I know WC is easy. These are just some of the risks that you need to consider.
  7. You cannot trust Flame Hawks with any small crustaceans, such as shrimps. So you can only have either one.
  8. Ah. The uncommon Blue Body Stenopus! It's beautiful. It's interesting to know it doesn't harm your sexy shrimps.
  9. Your nitrates do seem kind of high. Do watch out for algae, diatoms etc. Do you have a lid to reduce evaporation? Do you have any clean up crew? Are you planning on adding any fishes or invertebrates? What lights are you using? I personally recommend green star polyps and mushrooms because they are one of the easiest and one of my favourites. Possibly some shrimps later on.
  10. What do you feed your tank with? Your gsp are growing very fast. Wish mine grow as fast too. The long tentacles, luminous ones are so pretty under wave action.
  11. I thought the lights that come with it are LED ones and there are cooling fans? But with a hood, it is challenging.
  12. The temperature issue brought up by everyone is a valid concern for nano and pico setups. I was doing some regular temperature checks recently and these days the highest is 31 deg, which is definitely non-ideal. No wonder some of my Rhodactis mushrooms bleached. I wonder if our bros have a feasible solution somewhere in between fans and chillers. I mean, using the smallest chiller out there that is almost the same size as a pico tank is not a pretty sight.
  13. Interest in non photosynthetic corals seems to be waning. Does anyone have good success keeping sun corals and sea fans for a few years?
  14. Wow, this is like a Zoas zoo! Fantastic. I can't wait to see an entire rock of different varieties of Zoas.
  15. Oh no. So sorry to hear that. That's the problem with anemones. It took me some time to decide to finally one into my tank and that was after I was certain I don't have anything to mince it. When it is blended, it's best to change as much water as possible. Let us know when your tank stabilizes.
  16. The wrasse is so beautiful. How big was it when you got it and how is it doing now?
  17. Hi SGreef club member, im Lulu from Indonesia, i want to share my tank .. And this is my tank spec :Main Tank & Sump:50 x 45 x 4045 x 30 x 30Skimmer :DIY Skimmer from LFS with AB2000 pumpLighting :Ecoray 60D w/ 36 blue Led for SupplementCirculation & Filtration :Vortech MP10WesAtman 104 for return pumpFluidizer + RowaphosFilter sockThis is August FTSI started my first marine tank 3 years ago, and this is my 3rd tank. This tank is my latest setup which start almost 2 year ago (Dec 2010). My first tank 5G tank, and my 2nd tank 40G tank. I decided with nano tank just because want to be less maintenance, but im wrong.Nano tank, more complicated than i thought. It started very well, but not good later. Around 2011mid, my tank crash because too much phospate remover. This Problem caused me to start losing interest and almost left this hobby. But thanks to my wife who give me support and always encouraging me to maintain the tank, i continue this hobby. This is my tank pic before it crash ..That's for now .. Tell me what you think guys. cheers ..Ps : Oh and please excuse my bad english :) You have very beautiful sps, lps and fishes and I hope you are still reefing. Do keep us updated on your reef aquarium when you have the time.
  18. You have come a long way. Welcome back!
  19. But the clean up crew plays a very important role of eating up food scraps, dead creatures and even nuisance algae. Without them, you would have to perform the task yourself.
  20. I decided to boycott GO these days because I feel if everyone is willing to pay the high price, the price will be driven higher. Somehow when I bought a coral, I had a feeling that they will quote a higher price for the next one I came across simply because I accepted the price of the first. They also have their assistants tail and try to convince you to buy the next. I didn't have a good feeling about it, so decided not to go anymore although I do admit their corals are often of high quality but I got some bubble algae from their frags too.
