  1. I bought the following items (most are with photos) at various times of my freshwater and marine aquarium hobby and feel that I should try to get rid of them now to make space at home and to get back some money to buy new stuff. If any of the buyers want some Chaetomorpha algae, I can give them out in palm size bunches while stocks last. The collection point is most weekdays (Mon-Fri) at Hougang MRT/Hougang Mall after 8 pm. Please pm me if you are keen and we can work out the collection arrangment. Let's start with the second hand items. The original prices are in brackets and the prices I am letting them go are after that. I cannot guarantee that all these items are in 100% perfect condition though and they probably need some soaking to get rid of the coralline algae encrusted on them. (1) Bubble Magus Q3 protein skimmer used for 10 months ($160) - $100 (2) TUNZE DOC skimmer 9004 used for 3 months ($179) - $140 The rest are all new items that I have not used before and are still in their boxes and/or wrappers (some are with their original price tags too). If you take more than 4 items, I am willing to give a 10% discount on the items purchased. (3) Ocean Free Z-1000 Air Pump - $7.80 (4) Ada Submersible Pump WA-700 - $14 (5) Boyu FS-602 Cooling Fan - $24 (6) Sunsun Vibration Pump JVP-101 - $37.80 (7) SEIO M820 (3,200 ltr/hr) Super Flow Pump - $47.60 (8) JBJ Ocean Pulse Duo Wavemaker WM-01 - $48 (9) Hailea HX-6830 Immersible Pump - $48.50 (10) Eden 128 Centrifugal Pump - $59 (11) Cherry Aqua - iNano LED light - $189 Thanks everyone!
  2. This is another fascinating group of fish that I tried keeping with seahorses without success in the past. I am wondering if there are any bros here who successfully kept schools of pipefishes and can share their experiences of their requirements? Thanks.
  3. Is anyone keeping various species of Bat fish and can share your experiences of keeping them? What requirements do they need? I was fascinated with a few small specimens I saw sometime ago and am thinking of trying them out sometime if they are not too demanding. Thanks.
  4. I like the nice rock work, pair of snowflake clowns and sps! Well done bro.
  5. Do you know whether the seahorses are wild caught or captive bred and whether they are feeding on frozen food? Thanks.
  6. Bro Evolutionz, I was shocked too when I read that you are going to decomm. You have one of the nicest corals I have seen here and I enjoy reading your posts and seeing your photos. You have come a long way since you started your thread in 2013. Although I do not know why you are downgrading but you can be rest assured that you will still have a lot of supporters like me even if you downgrade and I look forward to seeing your new setup. All the best!
  7. I stopped a decade ago due to health reasons i.e. surgery due to back injury, and never knew I would actually one day come back to reefing. I must admit due to the latest technological advances e.g. LEDs, it has become more rewarding to successfully maintain a marine aquarium.
  8. Do any bros here made any progress in long term sustainability of seahorse aquariums? I'm still keen to try them because there's something really unique about them compared to other fishes. I haven't much that many posts on seahorses and really hope there's a revival of our interest in it. Thanks.
  9. How about trying the CaribSea Mineral Mud which do come in a small package of 1 gal?
  10. You do have a terror maroon clown. My false percula clown will nip my fingers but at least it won't move my corals around. But maroons are known to be more aggressive than percula clowns anyway. I usually corner the clowns to one end of the aquarium with two nets before netting them. To me it seems quite easy to net clowns because they prefer open waters than most other fishes that duck into the rockscape everytime a net or my hand goes into the water. It's exasperating trying to catch the latter.
  11. I think bro Admiraltian is right. The white stuff you see could be the Copepods which are definitely much relished in the aquarium. This means no introduction of wrasses for now. My apologies for the confusion caused. Don't lose heart because there are many more fantastic things coming your way if you are patient. If you do not have coral dips, my advice is to at least do a 10 min fresh water dip for all corals with rock bases before putting them into the DT. I bet you would be surprised with how many undesirable worms and critters appear from the rocks. All the best to you!
  12. Bro, It's so rewarding watching how an almost barren rockscape become so lush and teaming with life over time. As the owner of this aquarium, I am sure you feel a great sense of pride, achievement and satisfaction from this hobby. Excellent job! Oh, not to forget that I absolutely love the GSP wall!
  13. I'm not the sps expert in this but browned out sps is usually an indication that the lighting levels are insufficient or the nutrient levels are too high?
  14. Bro, I think your Zoas are infested with the white zoa eating nudibranchs. As a temporary measure, you can do a freshwater dip by soaking your Zoas for 5-10 mins in water before returning them back to the aquarium. You will see them turn brown before falling off your Zoas. Try to fish out as many of them that you can see in the aquarium too. You may want to consider introducing some wrasses eg. six line, that would eat them although I must caution you that with wrasses, you will usually end up with other issues ie. limitation in adding some other fishes, because they eat all the small organisms etc that can support fishes such as mandarin fish. By the way, the six line is beautiful but aggressive so you may have problems introducing some other wrasses in future. All the best!
  15. Bro, You have an interesting tall but narrow tank. Is it challenging to place the rocks and corals? What's your maintenance regime like? Thanks.
  16. Bros, Sorry for spoiling the market for the sales people but if you are not particular about very clear view and just wants to have a simple view of the aquarium from the top, you can use any transparent flat cover as a viewer. I use a Ferrero Rocher chocolate box cover as a viewer and have been quite satisfied with it this far. I hope this helps other bros who wants to save some money like me.
  17. What's your tank setup and parameters? Are there fishes that are not compatible with it? Maybe some photos can help the bros here to give you good advice?
  18. I know what you mean about not being able to capture the colours of the reef under the lights. But it still looks fantastic and some photos do look amazing.
  19. Hi Macro, Looking at the awesome photos, I wouldn't have known you are from Italy. You have beautiful scape, amazing corals and excellent maintenance. Well done! How's the reefing scene in Italy compared to Singapore?
  20. Bro, If it's any consolation to you, you do have an excellent specimen of the Lemonpeel Angel. Hopefully he will get used to pellets soon.
