  1. Dear reefers, Upon some encouragements from some of the bros & sis here, I decided to start a thread on my present tank. As I need time to search of the tank pics, I shall start the ball rolling by having some recently taken snap shots. Please feel free to comments. TIA
  2. Dear all, All Frags reserved pending collection.
  3. Dear reefers, Wanted to trim off some of my fast growing star polyp, will be a waste to throw them away thus wanted to give them out. PM for details.
  4. Hi Froggy, I can understand your frustrations. Different people have different opinions of what works for them. That's why you will see some reefers buying skimmers after skimmer to get a first hand experience on the skimmer that will work for them. For me, I am contented with my H&S insump skimmer but am constantly looking out for a good buy in Pasar Malam to test out other skimmers. My advise is similar to Ah-lim, visit reefers who have the skimmer you intend to buy and judge the performance yourself. HTH
  5. Hi Bro, If I am not wrong Daeil Cooler LTD is the manufacturer of Industrial, Commercial and Hobby chillers and are the a OEM for Artica chiller. You will not be able to get Daeil Chiller in certain countries (including Singapore) due to OEM agreement between both company. My $0.02

  8. Hi Bro, I have tried Tunze 9015 and find its performance quite decent. Which Tunze model your considering for this set-up?
  9. Hi BFG, Remora is not so bad lah, just that after the introduction of needlewheel it simply loose out in terms of performance. In fact, if you remember 2/3 years ago most of us and even the American were singing praises to Aqua C and Jason Kim. I am really tempted to really get it to do my little experiment, will be looking camping at pasar malam for good offers liao.
  10. Hi Hammy, Thanks for sharing your true experience with Weipro, Biostar and Deltec. Been wanting to get myself a MCE just to gauge its performace against the Biostar for quite some time but just couldn't find the time to do so. Thanks
  11. Hi bro, Yes, Remora is indeed a HOB, AquaC in fact have another model called Urchin which is a In-Sump model which resemble Remora just that cannot hang. I unsure of your reasons for not choosing HOB, thus suggested Remora as it can be used In-Sump as well. Anyway, good luck on your search for a skimmer that meet your needs. Do update us your eventual choice.
  12. Hi bro, Beside Tunze there is also Aqua C Remora which can be used in sump as well and it also have a small footprint. HTH
  13. Hi Bro, You may want to determine where exactly is the micro bubbles coming from in order to solve the problem. Adding baffles will only work if the bubbles are created by your skimmer or overflows. Those created by return will not be able to solve by this method. Sometimes micro bubbles in new set-up might be due to pipe joints. Meaning:- The joints on your pipes may not be fully sealed with silicon and thus may suck in air. This problem is usually be temporary as the "mico-holes" will be sealed in due time. HTH
  14. Wow... I am sure it will be fantastic.

  16. Hi bro, Your answer can be found here: https://www.hdb.gov.sg/fi10/fi10218p.nsf/FI...AQ?OpenDocument Excerpts: Q5: Can I install any household item heavier than 150 kg/m2 (such as a safe exceeding 150 kg) in my flat? A5: HDB flats are designed with an imposed load of 150 kg/m2. This is a requirement under the Building Control Act and Regulations for residential occupancy class. It is safe for residents to place most general household items, such as furniture, appliances, television, washing machine, refrigerator, piano, fitness equipment, etc, including common standard-sized fish tank/s in their flat as these items are not concentrated in one location and their weight will not affect the uniformly maximum distributed load of 150 kg/m2. However, if you intend to place unusually heavy items (such as safe exceeding 150 kg or a large-breeding aquarium-size fish tank) that exceed the allowable weight or size limit, you must get approval from HDB before installing these items. You will need to submit your application to the HDB Branch Office managing your flat, stating the size, type, weight and location of the fish tank (see sample copy) . Alternatively, you can submit your application using the email facility. HTH
