  1. With battery operated pump loh.... I have tried that same method during the last Singapore black-out.
  2. Thanks to one of our very 1st senior reefer plus fellow MASS member, I managed to sail through the power cut without any problem. While I was at AquaStar just now, I bought 2 battery operated pump as a standby. Reefers are welcome to borrow from me when in need. Cheers,
  3. Most current German fixtures are designed for hanging, I am not aware any that can be place on the tank. If you are thinking of keeping mixed reef, I think it should be alright. If you are planning softies, fowlr or seahorse then it is not necessary. HTH
  4. Wah... good to know that you are back! up for your sale.
  5. My 2 cents is never to pay with fire in this case pest anemone - they will overwhelm your tank a a blink of an eye. Best is to remove the entire rock.
  6. Bio Ocean have stopped retail operation and are concentrating only on set-up and maintenance, they have also since shifted from Opal Crescent. Beside Rowa, I have tried Aqua Pharm and also TLF with reasonable results, you may want to check it out.
  7. Wow, its been a few years since there's any reefers looking for Aqua Connect products. It was available a few years back through Bio Ocean, I am not sure whether its still available in Singapore now.
  8. I believe its manjano anemone - it will be a real pest! Check the below links for more info: http://www.melevsreef.com/pics/bta/not/majano.html http://www.advancedaquarist.com/2005/8/aaeditorial HTH
  9. Yah, if its coralines its easy to remove. Just soak in white vinegar solution will do the trick.
  10. You can either remove by hand with the wavemaker out of water to ensure that you do not release any spores into the tank or you can get some grazers to control them. HTH
  11. Dear reefers, Stumbled upon AquaStar website and realized that they have QuietOne Needle Wheel pump. Anyone here tried before? What's the flow rate? http://www.aquastar.com.sg/new.htm TIA
  12. Anyone who have seen the above before please let me know. Thanks In Advance....
  13. Anyone know where I can get the below? http://www.americanaquariumproducts.com/NonStopAirPump.html
  14. Dear reefers, My block power supply will be cut for 2 hrs on 12/02/2009 and I urgently need to borrow a few battery operated air pump as I just discovered that I have loan mine out but have forgotten to collect back. I will self collect and deliver back. TIA
  15. Hi bro, When you do up this tank did you provide them schematic drawings? May I see them? Btw, care to PM me the price for your tank? TIA
  16. Wah 1st pic already so fierce liao, is that a C. lineatus?
  17. The genus lo have been replace with siganus. Ref: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Siganus_vulpinus http://www.marinespecies.org/aphia.php?p=t...s&id=318916 http://www.marinespecies.org/aphia.php?p=t...s&id=273929 HTH
  18. This is a foxface rabbitfish (siganus vulpinus) although a very good grazer of algae it is not surgeon fish as it lack the scapel at the end of its tail.
  19. Aiyah, I was just looking for it a few weeks back. Up
  20. Now I know why the black volcanic sand we get from LFS will stick to magnets and yet does not rust. I was worried when I drop a tunze nano magnet recently into my sandbed and when I remove it, I found I huge chunk of my sandbed stuck to the magnet. Thanks for sharing this article Conrad. Anyone with similar experience?
  21. Hi Wilson, Looking good, shall keep a look out for your progress. Happy Reefing...
  22. Maybe you can check the below link: http://www.abrisousroche.com/EauMer/Animau...s-fasciatus.jpg http://www.aquariumhobby.nl/zeewater/visse...o/salariasf.jpg http://radu.bloguje.cz/img/salarias%20fasciatus.jpg My only advise if to get the smallest you can find as I don't consider them a nano fish, algae blenny can reach a max size of about 13cm and with their feisty temperament this 13cm bugger may be a handful. Maybe you can consider Tuxedo Urchin (Mespilia globulus), the max size is only 5cm and they are great grazers. http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?c=...20&aid=2126 http://www.aquariumslife.com/2008/08/mespi...ion-urchin.html HTH
  23. Besides that, frequent partial water changes will do wonders! Happy reefing!
  24. Yellow watchman is more of a ominivorous rather than a herbivorous. It sift sand of tiny morsels of food such as zooplankton & phytoplankton, in captivity, it will even take pellets. But it will not scrape, graze algae on rocks like true algae eaters such as tangs, urchins, rabbitfishes etc. Ref: http://www.sheddaquarium.org/SEa/fact_sheets.cfm?id=81 http://www.fishlore.com/profile-yellowwatchmangoby.htm If you are looking for a sand sifter for a small tank, I suggest Stonogobiops sp - they are small (Max - 5.5cm), easy to care, colourful and easily available. http://www.stephenwong.com/albums/Gobies/G...alli_shrimp.jpg http://aquatic-photography.com/gallery/fil...shrimplchsu.jpg HTH
