  1. Thanks Sis, But if I were to get, I make sure pay you a visit to get your recipe food.
  2. Waa Bro your respond very fast ah. Yup I bought the AJ instead of AT. ;-) Sold my 4mths back, now getting a Juv again. Much easier as compared to the Ultimate AT.
  3. Bro, both Maxi and Crocea require intense lighting, minimum 150w for a tank 1.5ft depth. Squamosa and Derasa are the ones that require less intense lighting as they derive most of the food from filter feeding. I like your set-up, especially the pipings. I am very poor in terms of technical stuffs. Hope to learn from you.
  4. Yah I was there just now. I ended buying the Japonica cuz the boss don't let me pay first and collect later. He said very stress to hold stock what if stock dies???? So anyway, I dun want to force him lah, this is business what. Bought the Japonica also because, I had them before and thus more confident to buy on the spot. But I must say he later called back to say that it is possible but I have already decided on Japonica liao.
  5. Wish you all the best. I think if you keep your bio-load low and you have frequent water changes. You will do fine. You never mentioned LR, do you have any in your tank?
  6. Hahaha... Thats the fact of life. But for Royal, I believe the reason why it is Ex is because the demand in US far exceed ours plus the price they would pay in US is higher than us. So I don't think their price will fluctuate much. As for the rest of the species that is readily available in the indo-pacific, it tends to be the way you have describe.
  7. So bros, PM me if you see any good specimens. I promised I will not make the same mistakes again!
  8. From what I know, Sea Stars can grow back its limbs provided the centre, which is where the major organs are, are intact. Without it, the limbs will just degenerate or in the wild eaten by others.
  9. I would like the Urchin plus Fairy Wrasse. But cannot have a good place for your tomato. If available, please PM me. Thanks
  10. A Royal Gramma below $20! All lots of reefers 'Chiong' liao man.
  11. Wish you all the best! From someone who just lost his AT.
  12. . I used to be in the same position when I started my hobby. Since I only wanted to keep SH, a CR Aquarium with back sump supplement with a 2213 was quite impressive liao. When I ventured into mixed reef, I finally decided to upgrade to sump filtration. Also because, I get sick of servicing the Canister weekly.
  13. CA will dissolve better in FW rather than SW. As for buffers, it is generally better to dissolve in SW from your tank.
  14. I was soooooo close. But I really botched it. What was I thinking! Will someone kick my A#%!
  15. Well said. For someone who always believe in Canisters!
  16. Actually he started this thread is because he wanted to know whether it is possible to use OHF to keep marine fish. The fact is, it is possible. But since he does not have a OHF, it was proposed that he get something affordable to him yet more suitable to marine. That is why he was reccomended Via Aqua. Via Aqua is not a OHF, it is a HOT filter / skimmer. Off course there is always better equipement out there but I believe his concern is affordabilty. Besides, most of us have recently read that one guy in Reef Central with a 32 yrs reef using under gravel filter. Lets not forget Berlin style which propagate LRs bare bottom with protein skimming and Kalkwasser! I feel that it is not a matter of the best equipment will do the work. But the most suitable filter for the kind of set-up you want. That's why the bro needs to know that for the basic equipment, he has to keep his bio-load very low. But if he can afford a better system - why not.
  17. Actually Terrysimon also have a point lah. A lot of people has been told that if you buy a canister, you will need to clean it 8 to 12mths later, which causes people to have NO3 problems. I have used Canisters before and I will have tendency not to service the canister cuz, I will have to disconnect piping, carry Canister to the toilets to be drain and wash and subsequently re-install back. As compared to a sump whereby I only need to remove the wool and add new wool. So initially I also have NO3 problems But if I service the Canister well ie. if you clean them weekly, I will have no problem with Canister until the last power disruption whereby, I have to cleanup the canister before I turn the power back up. During the power failure, I could easy maintain the sump and main tank with a air pump. But I can't do that with a canister. That is why some reefers eventually stop using canisters. I personally have do away with my canisters but I feel that there are always more than one way to skin a cat. Such as the reefer in the state that has a 32yrs tank - he is only using under gravel filter!
  18. Thank you all, I'll be back! But this time more careful and will not take things for granted!
  19. Thank you Leapfrog for your comment. Really appreciate your friendship.
  20. Thank you Terrysimon for coming to my aid. Appreciate your friendship!
  21. Dear all, Just wanted to update that my AT has lost its fight and pass away this morning 3am. Actually it was OK on Saturday after two days of feeding on the special "homemade" food. On Saturday evening, I added in 3 quarantined Anthias and on Sunday morning, AT seems stress and did not feed. Sunday afternoon, AT still refuses food. Sunday evening, AT still refuses food. Sunday, 11pm. AT is found panting and weak. Weak to the extend that I can net it without any struggle. Place in Quaratine. Sunday, 3am. Wake up to check on AT. Dead liao I am really very pissed with myself for adding the anthias. I have celebrated too early! I could have left the Anthias in quarantine and waited for AT to fully recover! What a jack ###### I am. I would aloso like to say sorry to all the reefers that offered helps, advices and well wishes. I really botched it this time. Hope that this incident will never repeated again.
  22. Quite true. There are always so people who dosen't actively contribute to this forum but periodically log in and fire pot shots at unsuspecting reefers. However, they forgetton that this forum has a system that you can check the historical contributions of any member. So I don't think as ill remarks by a guerilla will harm or affect me in any way. I have made alots of good friends in this forum who has help me in every step of my progress to be a better reefer, most of them are know me being a sincere, genuine and responsible memeber of this forum. I shall end this counteraction here. And if that member is still not happy, I more than welcome him to PM to settle his/her issue with me outside of this forum. Sorry Moderators for making it a distasteful experience.
  23. When he meant what he says. Not someone who say one things then turn around and point fingers at other!
