Patrick123 has a point. IMHO there are only two effectively ways of eradicating ich: 1. Chemical (Copper, Formadeleyne) 2. Hyposalinity Garlic, UV and Ozone has been used with mixed results in PREVENTING ich not eradicating ich. I am struggling with ich too and have been stubborn to admit that Chemical & Hyposalinity is the way to go. I tried UV, Kick Ich (Reef Safe Chemical), Garlic, Selcon & Marine C. My KIAs are: 1 x AT 4 x Lyretial Anthias 3 x Dispar Anthias 1 x Copperband WIAS are: 1 x Hippo Tang 1 x Flame Angel After going through a big fat detour, I have to admit my mistake and I will be removing all my fishes from the display tank to be 'Hypo' treated gradually for 4 - 6 weeks and leave the display tank 'fishless' during this time so that the #@$&^% ich will not have an host to continue their lifecycle.

Actually Mandarin and its spotted cousin feeds on pods (Copepods, Amphipods etc). Some can be wean into taking Mysis such as the ones that Fuel kept. But most needs abundance pods inyour tank in order to survive. Thus most literature advises against keeping Mandarins in a tank that has not mature as it will not be able to generate enough pods for the Madarin. If however, your tank has been set-up for six months and again already and has lots of LRs, I would suggest you release it into the tank, you will notice it immediately heading towards your pile of LR in search of pods. I noticed you have place it in a net box, are your training it to take mysis? If yes, then I think you should ask Fuel for more advice. I for one, just leave it to my pods to keep my Mandarin happy.

I will gladly accept. But now the piriority is to nurse it back to health if it is still alive. I suspect it could be reason 3, this is one aspect that alot reefers omit. Corals need iodide, by dosing some form of iodine, you will find that most corals will 'color up'. I for example, dose Tropic Marine Lugol solution to ensure that the LPS and soft corals will have sufficient iodide. Good luck!

Bubble tip (Entacmaea quadricolor) cannot be used to host percula. Percula prefer these: Heteractis crispa; H. magnifica and Stichodactyla gigantea. You may check on this link for more info: Anemone

Can lah, I use freeze dried ones. But I don't sprinkle them directly into the tank, cuz they tends to float and end up either eaten by the fishes if not overflow into the sump. So what I did is to mixed them with my frozen mysis. I find that this will bind them with the frozen mysis thus will be better distributed in the tank. Try it, you will find that it works better this way.
