1. Does the seio use less power than a powerhead? Yes, it uses less wattage but gives more power as compared to the normal powerhead including Eden. 2. Would the output be too strong for a tank of my size? Not really but I would not reccommend anything more than 620. 3. Would it agitate the water surface? If you place them high enough they will create ripples. 4. Any risk of shrimps or snails being sucked into its impeller? Not really, unless the LS are in the first place sick, I have snails, cleaner shrimps and sally lightfoots periodically cleaning the intake of the seios none of them ever got caught by it. 5. Are the suction cups reliable? Nope, they will slip and drop. I usually support the suction by placing the Seios on top of a stable LR. Happy upgrading.

There are some reefers that use more than what the seio 1100 can pull - they use the Tunze Turbelle 6000. But again careful placement is crucial. I for one have 1 x 820 and 2 x 620 but will be upgrading to the Tunze Turbelle 6000 soon for my 3 ft tank for I wanted to have stronger flow. Like what KokHui has mentioned - Aqua Marin is the next best choice. Both of them are our sponsors, so you may find their contacts listed in the Sponsor forum. You can call them to determine stocks availabilty before going down. PetMart AquaMarin

The lady answered, " For me, it all about getting laid rather than hump. Anyway, I dun mind you being the humper".

Hi Jim, Any new updates on your tank? Kind of miss your posts.

Yup, Petmart still having promotion on the seio. Yes, Ang Mo Kio MRT station is the nearest to Petmart, you grab a taxi from the station to Petmart. You can use a combination of 1 x 1100 and 1 x 820 for your tank. but personally I prefer higher flow thus if I have your tank, I will go for 2 x 1100. But have to position properly if not sandstorm.

I have posted it in my tanks shots before but since Sis Lin has started this thread will support by posting again. Angel's Prayer.

Wah William, why same comment as mine one????

Wow! I really like this shot, its able to capture the true colours of the solorensis! Very nice, keep it coming.

Nice, i think the colours will be back soon with your TLC.

Let me be the 1st to say I am standing by for your pix!
-
Iori_del: "Hmm did u take the pic when light out as quite dark... " KokHui: "Looks like not only you want to get a tunze, you may want to get a DC too! Do you tank and fish some justice! " Terryz: "Nice one... But can take with more lighting anot... very dark ler... Saw a few nice ones in the shipment before this one" Dear Bros, For you infomation, the photos were taken in 1 x 250W 10kk MH supplemented with 2 x 39w T5 Actinics lightings with a rented Canon 10D! So I guess it is not the camera - its the cameraman that is at fault! I stand corrected, I guess I will have to photoshopped the pics next time.

No lah, C. solorensis is the resident dasher for a few months liao. The rest of the fishes simply do not swim that fast as frequently as it. How about you Des, when you updating us with your pics again?
-
Actually the P. lineopunctatus is not that ex, less than 2 pices of red. A fellow reefer have promised to sell the 6000 to me once he receives his Wavebox. How about you?
-
Same C. solorensis, but t the differencein terms of ligting as compared to earlier post. Both were captured by the 10D using exactly same settings. However, the earlier shots were taken with a 250w 15kk China bulb while this one is taken with BLV 10kk. Thus the verdict is out.

I agree with sapient, the euphyllia species are good indicators of your water condition. I suggest you start looking at all aspects of your water condition and rectify it at the root.

Ways of preventing Cyano. 1) Controlled feedings ie do not feed to much 2) Effective nutrient export ie a good skimmer 3) Good flow / eliminate dead spots ie a good power head/s to move the water within the tank Hope that helps.

Hi Icecold, never release them in the dark. From my experience, you can release fishes that are nocturnal in the dark but never fishes that are active during the day. I have released Banggai and also lots of ghost shrimps at night with success. Especially smaller shrimps, I have to wait for the wrasses to go for their beauty sleep before I can release the shrimps, if not they will be eaten! But I tried that on my AT and another on a seperate occassion with my PT. On both occassions, after releasing, they started bashing around the rockworks as they are unable to find a way out of some of the caves and crevices I have created using LR. At certain point, they even got stuck between some big rocks! In the end, I have to on the lights so as to calm them down but they have already suffered several cuts on their heads and body. For me, I will never do that ever again with diurnal fishes. Anyway, most books recommend releasing the fishes at least 2-3 hours before lights off so that they have time to explore the environment and settle down before darkness sets in.

Hey Boy Wonder, dun forget you a dedicated driver that is still learning the robes.

Can't agree more man! Besides with your ways of evaluating, it also help educate us on how we can do a simple test at home to evaluated my own skimmer. I understand that none of us have the necessary equipments to fully test and compare between products by I think with you, we are one step closer.
