  1. Hi bro, I believe the bluelip angel you are referring to is Apolemichthys Trimaculatus. http://www.amonline.net.au/fishes/fishfact...h/atrimacul.htm Personally, I find that they do not take collection and shipping well thus usually may not eat after reaching our tank and eventually starved. For me, I have 1 success by getting the fish from a good lfs that allows feeding and also after choosing the most aggressive feeder. But I have since pass it on after realising that it started nipping on sessile inverts. May be you can try to entice it to start feeding by brine shrimp or mysis before trying pellets. Pleas do note that if the fish started to look emaciated, they may never feed again. HTH
  2. One of SRC's Senior used to keep clams at his outdoor "tank" using natural sunlight. But when the ENV start increasing their anti-dengue fumigation campaign, most of his stock succumbs. I think its possible, just that being oudoor will be more exposed to the elements. For that senior's case the problem is fumigations. HTH;)

    FOC Frags

Hi bros, Accidentally broked 2 frags (1.5cm) from my 6in colony of pocci (pink with green polyp) - Will give FCFS to reefers who have decent set-up trying to move into sps. Have a colony of star polyp spreaded to a loose rock - Will give FCFS preferably to students. All self collect from Punggol Central near Punggol MRT. Please PM for details. Cheers,
  4. Hi bro, If you suspect its due to predator, the best time to catch them is 2-3 hours after lights-off. Good luck!
  5. Hi bro, There are many successful sps reefers without ozone. The application of ozone till today is still a very much debated subject. In fact, California have recently outlaw the used of ozone air purifer at home. And the funny thing is that even this, is contested by many pro-ozone users. Source: http://www.thenewstribune.com/news/promos/...ory/168009.html Personally, I have used a Sander 25mg ozoniser in my tank before and I can say that it does clarifies the water but I did not observe any heightened sps activities as compared to without ozone. HTH
  6. Saw it personally - very healthy specimen. Upz
  7. Hi bro, Some Sea Stars are unable to cope with transportation and some just not suitable in our tank. Its been written by several experts (even Julian Sprung) that their diet remains a mystery thus may slowly starve to death in our tank. I have tried the so called reef-safe + hardy Fromia sp. several times only to have them slowly "disintergrating" in my tank. I have ruled out transportation and acclimation as I have done the necessary by: 1) Proper selection 2) Ensure I do not expose them to air 3) Drip acclimation At first I suspect its due to a crab but even after my removal the susequent fromia still start "melting" after 3 month in my tank. Just my 2 cents.
  8. If not how to get Field Commissar Silver???
  9. Sad to know that you have to de-com for such reason. Up for your sales. Hope that you will resolve it soon.
  10. Hi Bro, Not only Pacific Coast... Aqua EuroUSA chillers also OEM by Resun. http://www.aquaeurousa.com/Chillers.htm
  11. Saw the below this morning and managed to capture it in the dark. Apparently one of my LPS (Lumi Green Octo) polyp flew straight into the path of my SPS and was captured by the SPS polyp.
  12. Bro Uyopong, Dunno why eveytime I read your post, I ended admiring your avatar..... That also reminded that bro Barnacle used to have one solid one as well.
  13. A stranger - a fascinating story A few years after I was born, my Dad met a stranger who was new to our small town. From the beginning, Dad was fascinated with this enchanting newcomer and soon invited him to live with our family. The stranger was quickly accepted and was around from then on. As I grew up, I never questioned his place in my family. In my young mind, he had a special niche. My parents were complementary instructors: Mom taught me good from evil, and Dad taught me to obey. But the stranger...he was our storyteller. He would keep us spellbound for hours on end with adventures, mysteries and comedies. If I wanted to know anything about politics, history or science, he always knew the answers about the past, understood the present and even seemed able to predict the future! He took my family to the first major league ball game. He made me laugh, and he made me cry. The stranger never stopped talking, but Dad didn't seem to mind. Sometimes, Mom would get up quietly while the rest of us were shushing each other to listen to what he had to say, and she would go to the kitchen for peace and quiet. (I wonder now if she ever prayed for the stranger to leave.) Dad ruled our household with certain moral convictions, but the stranger never felt obligated to honor them. Profanity, for example, was not allowed in our home...Not from us, our friends or any visitors. Our longtime visitor, however, got away with four-letter words that burned my ears and made my dad squirm and my mother blush. My Dad didn't permit the liberal use of alcohol. But the stranger encouraged us to try it on a regular basis. He made cigarettes look cool, cigars manly and pipes distinguished. He talked freely (much too freely)! about ######. His comments were sometimes blatant, so matinees suggestive, and generally embarrassing. I now know that my early concepts about relationships were influenced strongly by the stranger. Time after time, he opposed the values of my parents, yet he was seldom rebuked... And NEVER asked to leave. More than fifty years have passed since the stranger moved in with our family. He has blended right in and is not nearly as fascinating as he was at first. Still, if you could walk into my parents' den today, you would still find him sitting over in his corner, waiting for someone to listen to him talk and watch him draw his pictures. His Name? We just call him, "TV." He has a younger sister now. We call her, "Computer."

  16. Hi bro, I may place my 6060 as per below to ensure that I cover dead spot and most importantly to direct water into your overflow. HTH
  17. Hi Storm, Used to keep this cuke before but gave it away cuz it prefers to move around the rockworks rather than sandbed and also heard that they prefers to filter feed from the water column. Hope yours is well behaved.
  18. Hi Bro, I have used it before on my previous 2ft and 3ft tanks and I find it suits my needs to the T. When my wife's uncle wanted a cheap, small, reliable skimmer that consume minimal electricity for his 4ft tank with hardy corals - he settled for the biostar flotor even when its recommended tank size by Aqua Medic is only 65gal. He too is happy with the performance. AquaMart is the authorised dealer for AquaMedic products, you may want to contact them. HTH;)
  19. Hi bro, May I know where's the overflow? Knowing the position of the overflow will help in deciding where to place your wavemaker.
  20. Hehehe... heard the buyer now have 3 flame angels in 1 tank!!!!
  21. Hi bro, You may want to try the below link: http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/index.php?...topic=42202&hl= By the way, I have used 9015 before and find it reliable. HTH
  22. No lah bro, he is my wife's uncle leh... how to tell him what to do... just can hint here and there.
  23. My wife's uncle have asked me to provide some information near so as to address some of the queries. AquaMedic Biostar Flotor A compact external filter system for salt water aquariums up to 250 litres (c. 65 gallons). The biostar flotor is a combination of a powerful motor driven protein skimmer with the Biorotor biological filter. It is designed for salt water aquariums up to 250 l (c. 65 gal). It is the smallest complete filter system for salt water aquariums commercially manufactured. The competitively priced biostar flotor allows nearly every tank within its capacity to be transformed into a marine aquarium and is an ideal filter system for beginners in the marine hobby With the biostar flotor the new trends in marine aquaria, the Microreef and Nanoreef aquariums can be successfully achieved. The skimming capacity of the system is large enough for dense stocking levels, even with fast growing SPS corals. The biostar flotor is also ideal for specialist aquaria - for sea horses, crustacea or other invertebrates. - protein skimmer with venturi pump (Ocean Runner PH2000, 9 watts with Needle Wheel) - Biorotor system creating exceptional biological capacity with enhanced oxygen uptake as the bacteria are alternately emersed and submersed. - simple â€hang on†mounting with 4cm (c. 1.6â€)capacity holder Dimensions (l x w x h): 8.5 x 25 x 23 cm - including foam cup 38 cm (c. 3.4†x 10†x 9.2†- including foam cup c. 15.2â€) Source: http://www.aqua-medic.de/seawater/en/12/biostarflotor1/ Although the biostar flotor is under rated for his tank, he feels that it was able to perform effectively comparing to his previous skimmers. IMHO, I feel this biostar flotor is a good buy for those looking for a small needlewheel skimmer for their 2 to 3ft set-up. HTH
