  1. Bro, were you there around 4? Think I saw a white bravo...
  2. Never asked, can't tell whether its from medan, all still faded due to trans-shipment. But the hybrids are worthwhile, cuz the orangy yellow tail is quite broad.
  3. Hi Bro, Nice tank, hope to see it in person soon.
  4. IMHO, I think the problem could be Nitrate, personally I try to keep Nitrate to below 5ppm. You may want to read the following link by Albert Thiel - http://www.athiel.com/lib/bacterial.html HTH
  5. Hi bro, Crustaceans moult as they grows. After moulting they will be venerable as their new shell is still soft (that's how we can soft shell crab) and will take several hours to harden. I guess your cleaner shrimp may be attacked by the coral banded shrimp during this time and don't think it will have anything to do with your water changes. HTH
  6. Bro Ah Siang, Ah Beng still have Rainford goby you were looking for...
  7. At Ah Beng, among the Powder Blue spotted 3 hybrid. Saw a senior making off with 2 very nice specimens.... Anyone interested still got 1 more around 3.5inch for 3.5 reds.
  8. Good job on the QT! Locally not many people have the patience for QT.
  9. It depends on the design of your CR, some are built to fluidized thus you need to use medias of smaller size, some that recommends large corals chips - these usually are non fluidizing. HTH
  10. OMG! What a pity... will you keep warty again? Saw some at Ah Beng recently...
  11. Wow, would be good to pay you a visit one day.
  12. Wow, nice tank with sponges and dendronepthya - how long you have been keeping them? For chisel tooth wrasse, I have kept it before, they can reach a max size of 25cm and will pose a threat to your shrimp and even some smaller crabs and hermit. 13. Oic, do you need to do any modification when you use Aquabee pump. Cuz from the pic they have on their website, seems like they uses Hailea pump.
  14. Hi bro, Never really do the maths on DI vs distilled. But use distilled due to the follwing reasons: 1) Don't have to deal with the slow dripping typical of DI and RO/DI 2) Don't have to bother about changing medias 3) Don't have to measure TDS on every batch, I don't measure TDS periodically to ensure that my distilled water quality do not drop Not much of a space constraint as I order 2 btls weekly and at most I will have 4 btls lying around at home. I have a contract with Candid Water Cooler Pte Ltd which supply Aplheus. I find their quality is very consistent compared to the cheaper distilled water which I have heard TDS will varies between batches. HTH
  15. Bro, Do you mean that you bought a Aquabee from Aquamarin there to test it with the skimmer?
  16. Yes bro, most of us replace evaporated water with distilled, DI or RO water straight without any additional treatment. I have replace evaporated water with DI previously and now switch to distilled water. For FW tank, you definitely need to remineralize, if not it will affect your pH. HTH
  17. Hi Bro, Remineralization is needed when you are using it in fresh water application. For marine, we either uses DI for water top up or with salt-mix, Salt-mix contains the necessary trace and minerals need by the tank thus there is no need to remineralize your DI water. As for water top up, it replaces evaporated water without the minerals thus it is also not necessary to remineralize. If your TDS is measuring 0, I think it should be safe to use without needing to add anti-chlorine. HTH
  18. Very nice and neat looking tank... keep up the good works. Looking forward to more pics from your tank.
  19. Very true indeed, with your current set up, you should be able to keep nitrate at acceptable for your livestocks. I also feel that denitrator will comes in when you need to bring the nitrate lower for the more demanding livestocks such as sps. Keep those pictures coming....
  20. Nitrate is a product of nitrification, thus it is not surprising that your nitrate will be high. With your investment in Cheato and Biohome plus, I believe you should be able to lower the nitrate in due time. HTH
  21. Time to vist your wonderful creation soon.
  22. Nice set up! It shows when you have invested sufficient time doing the necessary ground works.Hope to see more of your post to be inspired.
