If the NSW source is reliable and the salinity and pH is within range, I don't foresee any drastic reaction from the livestocks. I did some major change to my tank last november and using partial NSW from Iwarna as well without any mishaps. All the best!

No worries. Thinking out from the box, if your old pump is beyond servicing, you may want to changed to another pump and get the retailer to do the change for you. You may want to try Eheim pumps, they are known to be very reliable. HTH

Bro, Not sure if its useful but for me I will siphon 50% of the water from my old tank and keep them aside in aerated container to be used in new tank before I start any de-comm activities. This is because I find that once your start remove livestocks and rocks, the water will be too cloudy and the water quality will not be suitable for the new tank.

If you did not use force to remove the screws securing the pump, you should not have any problem re-attaching the pump back into your cabinet. If you are unsure how to go about attaching the different elbows and unions on your pump, you can bring the old pump to Mainland and get them to do it for you, they do sell PVS pipes as well. If you intend to do that, you will need to get some aeration in your main and tank while you change you pump and also to wait for the silicone to dry on your pipes. As you have livestocks in your main tank, you may want to allocate 3 air stones in your tank and another 1 air stones in your sump. During this period, do not feed or on your lights. HTH

Looking at your pic again, I believe the below could be your ball valve. Shut this off to remove the pump.

Next check whether you have ball valves along this line to shut off any water supply to/fro the pump. If you do not have one, then be prepared that when you unscrew the unions, water will be flowing out from the joints and get ready some buckets.

Bro, The parts circle in red should be the thread union, this is where you can remove the pump from your piping systems.
