  1. Sea Monkey is a marketing gimmick, they are actually Brine Shrimp! Adult Brine Shrimp do not provide enough nutritional values thus most reefers feed Baby Brine Shrimp. Mysis are Fresh Water Shrimps, they are reported to have higher nutritional values and plus due to the fact that they are Fresh Water, it is belive that they do not harbour parasites that will threaten Marine Fishes.
  2. Actually, CR does have models that are suitable for reef, it comes iwth overflow and bottom sump. The model you are considering is more for Fish Only with minimal bioloads. But if you are still keen, consider the Remora Pro or the Deltec HOT loh. You can check it out at our sponsor Eaquanature.
  3. Of course if you have $$$, go for a custom tank lah. You can check out Bio-Ocean (our sponsor) I think they are having a promo on 3ft tank. Good luck ;-)
  4. Hi Ivcap, sorry to hear about your chiller. I believe you have a RR right? Did you sold it off for the Resun?
  5. For me I on my UV 10hrs a day. Seem to work well for my mix reef.
  6. Hi, Have One Pair of the above for sale @ $25. Normally sold at $22 per set, me selling two sets. Self collect at Punggol.
  7. Its Cyno. Since it is in the sump, I believe the water flow might be insufficient thus you might want to place a powerhead to move the water a bit.
  8. I have the 2ft version from CR too (the one with the sump at the back). I feel that you should consider buying your equipment from external is you have the time to do your own measuring and research. For me, I feel the biggest constraints is the width of the back sump that forbid is used of bigger pump and does not permit the use of in-sump skimmer. So you option is only Hang-On Type. I eventually settled for a Seaclone with Maxijet. I do not know whether the Weipro with Weipro pump will be able to fit. But I know the Deltec H.O.T., Aqua C Remora Pro is a better bet. But I must say that CR's customer services is fantastic.
  9. I agree with tineng. Cannister are effective filters is you have a set-up constriant and if you are not considering to have corals or some demanding fishes such as tangs, anthias & butterflies. I too started with cannisters and have been satisfied with it until I venture into mixed reefs systems.
  10. Thanks bro. Looking foward to it.
  11. Yup bro. RARE. Anyway, you know where to get it right. I called yesterday evening was told still have two. Not sure today, maybe you already reserved liao.
  12. Those are pods (Copepods or Amphipods). They are great food source for some fishes. Can consider adding 1 x Mandarin Goby. But do not have 2 cause they will fight, 1 will be enough to control the pods in ypur tank. Also, most LPS feed on them too.
  13. Do you change 10 to 20% of water weekly? What kind of skimmer you using now?
  14. It is Yuma alright. Anyway bro, how much you selling?
  15. Bro, since I am staying in Punggol Central maybe one day, we could meet up to learn more from you and Weileong.
  16. Dust to debris has a point. Maybe can consider some bottom dweller to move the sand.
  17. So do you use a tripod? Did you take from an angle to reduce reflection? Do you use flash?
  18. Wonderful. Maybe you guys should start a thread to share with us the tips to such wonderful photos. I have tried so many times shooting my tank and in the end give up and have decided to shoot flowers . But I hope one day to show some decent photos of my tank. Now whenever, I see those I have taken - I puke
