  1. Hi guys, I am interested to buy the above complete set in good working order. Kindly PM me if you are selling.
  2. Wah lao bro, the topic of this thread is temperature and you ask flowrate here? A little off topic leh. Anyway, the flowrate of CL650 varies, some reefers have tried 5000l/h and some tried 1200l/h. I use 2000l/h with no problems. If you want the reccomended flowrate, I suggest you check out the manual cuz I forgot liao.

    LED Lights

Very interesting topic. Really hope some guru out there could shed some "lights" on this issue. And if really can be done, maybe we can have a bulk order.
  4. I agree with Tineng! Very hard to do comparison just by one photo.
  5. I think its because the warmer water causes increase metabolism thus fishes will feed more. That's why when treating diseases some reefers heat up the tank slightly.
  6. Fish only is easy, as long as it is not exceeding 31 degree it should be alright. But for invertebrates some may be stressed. Thus try to keep them below 29 degree max. 25-26 degrees are the most ideal but as Steven have pointed out, it can only be done with a chiller.
  7. Actually it is not reccomended to use ice cube to lower tank temperature cuz when the ice melts, it lowers the salinity of the tank which will still cuz problem. The safer methos is to install a fans blowing across the water surface to reduce temp by evaporation. However, you will need to top-up fresh water constantly. Another method is to freezed some water in a soft drink bottle and place the whole bottle into the sump without un-capping. This will reduce temperature and yet the melted water will be contain in the bottle.
  8. Sorry to say that they are not. Hawkfishes are known to be aggressives and territorial. They like to hunt live prey such as small fishes and small shrimps any things that can fit into their mouth will be eaten. But if you dun have anything in your tank that is smaller than the Hwakfish's mouth - by all means!
  9. Agree with clownfish, you can't put sand st the first compartment cuz the water supposed to flow from the bottom, putting sand there will choke the flow. Maybe just make do with dsb loh. cuz too small a dsb also cannot work.
  10. Oh yah, now I see it. For me my return is 2700l/h, I have a 820 at the lower portion of my 3ft tank to create circulation and another 2 x 620 at the higher opposing part of my tank to create higher flow. Do you think it is sufficient? I am thinking of removing 1 x 620 and replace it with a Tunze.
  11. Have a 2nd look at your 3rd chamber dun think it can fit the macro. Unless it is the Aqua c Urchin maybe still got chance. As for the DSB, can maybe moved to the first chamber loh. Only cannot cultivate macro algae. But DSB should be able to still function.
  12. I think it should suffice for 3ft. cuz the 14hf flowrate is 2700l/hr.
  13. Great set-up! Think need a little tuning of your sump area. Can you put the skimmer into the 3rd compartment from the left and thereby move the dsb into the 2nd chamber? Also notice there is a purple seafan. Make sure you place it at a hogh flow area - if not will not open and thus.......
  14. Great! So I guess you going down again later today. Me, I am still mourning my death. Wow, so you met the masters of the sps!
  15. Nice tank and great job Mellow! Btw, may I know what is the flowrate of your return? Seems like you only have a Rio 820 for circulation - is it enough? Cuz, I am thinking of increasing my flow in order to accomodate sps.
  16. But posting that will get me an Instant Red card!
  17. That guys who owns this tank is thinking of setting up a Punk Wig shop if he can't solve this problem.
  18. Saw it in another site and wonder what will some of us do if this happens to us???????
  19. Bro, think you should stop stocking and concentrate in fighting your nuisance algae (Bryopsis & Diatoms). Seems to be getting out of hand.
  20. AT is right. Double confirmed with a few of my Jap colleagues. It is a remote controlled robot developed by some Japanese engineers a couple of years ago to showcase their robo-technology. Being able to create a robot as graceful as the Koi seems to be the ultimate challenge after they created Aibo.
  21. I will.... but not so soon. Decides to keep away from tang for the couple of months.
  22. Once it stop eating, you can start preparing to scoop it out from the bottom of your tank liao. Sad and cruel but it is true.
