Also, my giessingeri pair are still roaming in my refugium almost always together. Dun knoe whether are are of opposite ######? If they are, I think I will be a happy man soon.

a partner for my Alpheus bellulus
Gouldian replied to yiling's topic in FOWLR (Fish-only with Live-rock)
Hi Des, try to get the Stonogobiops sp. and avoid the Cryptocentrus sp. cuz the Cryptocentrus tends to be bigger and more aggressive. For the Stonogobiops, the nematodes are easily available thus cheaper as compared to the yashia. But bare in mind if you intend to keep more than 1 gobies per PS, you must intro them (Gobies) together if not they will not share one host easily. In fact, I have previously tried many times but to no avail when I intro the gobies separately. Anyway, wish you all the best in your 1st few LS! -
Look for dmitri, he is selling. Here's the Link Good buy!

I have been a firm believer of Rowa and have 300gm running in my RM FR for more than a months liao. Have noticed that Po4 have been hovering around 0.03 for 5 days liao, meaning time to change media liao. Decided to change when test on my salifert showed reading between 0.003 - 0.1ppm. Went to one of our sponsors to get Rowa but no stock so decided to try Aquaz. Was pleasently surprised by the price. Anyway, when home to test out product. Upon closer inspection realized that the packaging are double sealed, I guess they must have reacted on comments about their products being not properly sealed. Plus points! When I opened the container, I found that the content are brown and dry, unlike Rowa which will trapped moisture thus have a wet feel to it. Colours wise its more like the BioPhos II although the grandules are slightly bigger and even as compared to the BioPhos II. I rinsed the Purephos briefly under di water and immediately placed the whole 500ml into my FR and start running. Waited for 2 days and tested water, 0.3ppm using Salifert. Today is the 4th day after using the Purphos, just tested and colour is lighter that 0.03ppm but not totally white (zero). So I guess the Purephos has done it job of absorbing Po4. My overall impression so far * Good competitive price * Absorbtion of PO4 can be measured within two days with a 1000l/hr FR, previously when I used Rowa, I am able to get near zero on the 2nd day with about 300gm using the same FR * Improved packaging to protect its content from external elements Verdict Cannot compare to Rowa in terms of performance (absorbtion rate) but definitely an more economical choice for reefers not willing to spend to much on Rowa. Good, also for reefers who dun have FR and use filter bags and thus need a more economical source po4 absorber.

What skimmer is that???? Got any pix of your tank? What are the water parameters?

Hi 35cents, It sure is a blessing in disguise. As for photos, I dun think I have the skills and patience like you guys. I can't even take decent photos of my regular fishes in my tank without seeking help from some seniors, not to talk about griess. I tried to show it to a brother that drop by this afternoon, but to no avail. After he left, I saw them coming into the open again????? This is the unique attributes of griess that interest me - you are not able to see them as a when you like, they are the boss! Another such fish is the Priolepis nocturna. I guess, some of us just like the "Peek a Boo" effect. But so far, I have not see any aggression shown by the pair, they are always within 1 - 2 body length from each other.

Agree with Moxa, good buy considering its been used for less than two months and if I am not wrong used for cycling nia. I bet its still in mint condition. Upz.......

Hi guys, Just wanted you guys to know that I have finally joined your ranks. Due to the sudden intrusion of the Alpheus bellulus I have to forgo my order from the last shipment! When this shipment arrives, I did not rush straight to ML cuz I am still unable to net the PS and plus I am busy preparing for the temporary power cut in my area for some maintenance work to be done by the town council. Due to some delay during lunch, I reached home later than the power cut and realized that my sump overflowed. I have previously raised the water in my sump higher and forgotten to lower so that it could hold the back flow from the main-tank and pippings. After climbing up to the 12 storeys, I arrived home with a small puddle below my tank. So instead of just turning on some battery operated air-pumps, sit back and enjoy my tank without lights, I ended mopping and clean all areas near the sump. Fortunately I was rewarded, due to the flooding, my PS actually dislodges itself from its hiding place and seek refuge in the compartment of my sump easily accessable by net! After less than 1 min, the PS is safely contained. Without much ado, I called Henry while I proceeded to the car. 4 hours later, I am a happy owner of a pair such lovely fish. Its been nearing 24hrs since and I must say, they are still within sight! Guys, I am glad that my efforts have paid off! , Looking forward to learning more about such a lovely fish from you guys.

Hi Lee, It definitely will perform better that the CL280 due to its colling power. I ran it on my 3ft with 2.5ft sump and it is capable in retaining my pre-set temperature of 28 degrees but running every 45mins for about 3mins each session. I do not know the flowrate of the Atman cannister but I ran my with a Sicce idra which flowrate is 1400l/hr PM me if you are interested. Still available.
