  1. Remember, you have to keep your nostrills high up and say, "can I hep chew, can I hep chew?"
  2. Will keep you posted if I intend to sell them. Anyway, I may have a Aqua C Remora available for sale soon - hope it will meet your timing.
  3. I dun used Macro thus not fair for me to comment. However, personally I will tend to trust the European and American product as oppose to the Asian made products. Due to the fact that the latter using don't invest in R&D but try to copy the former and also due to the fact that they frequently over rate their products. 3 x 2 x 2 if not heavily stock or if you intend to use it for FOWLR still can. But if you intend to keep on a Acros and fishes - not adviseable.
  4. I love the shot of the YT. Brilliant colorations. Must be well taken care of (Could it be female????).
  5. HAHAHA Great to see the master of all Buayas in SRC back! But what I missed most are your "no holds barred" comments! Hope to see more of your post! Especially your tank shots! Dun just show us a clown feeding on mysis - think what? You newbies ah????
  6. Hi Mark! That's because you have been missing for so long! Nowadays people just play it safe by being Mr. and Ms Nice Guy/Gal. Anyway, I dun think you are the rotan guy, just that I really missed those days where by you will speak your minds when you see somethings are wrong. Welcome back Mark! As for Jem, if you are really serious in picking up this hobby and you dun have a budget? Get a mentor, atleast he will loan you some basic equipments and assist you with the proper husbandry. PM me if you need my help. If this is just a passing interest? Stop right now!
  7. Welcome to the Club Rhionpias! I am sure we will learn lots from each other.
  8. What I dun like about his son is that he goes about the shop shadowing you, show his nostrils and at the same time asked, "Can I hep chew? Can I hep chew?". Once I was there with another two of my friends and one of them imitated him and guess what???? He found out! From then on he left us alone. liao. Honestly, I will still patronize them as I know they are now more aware of the importance of service.
  9. Bro Hotlemond, You are most welcome to try. PM me if you need some sample.
  10. Hi Seamonkee sorry to read about your lost! Anyway, if you need some of my frozen food to pump up your fish, feel free to let me know. As for that shop - the boss always like that wan. In fact, many consider him as the most experienced marine fish guru in the LFS trade. But just that he is very sarcastic at times. He is quite ok with me but his son...... at least 5 times more cocky than him. Anyway, knowing that shop, I believe they have changed to be more friendly as compared to a few years back. Good luck to your pair, hope to see them swimming happily in your main tank soon.
  11. Just upgraded my food with tiger prawns and..................OYSTERS today! Super fishy during preparation man! Imagine, I dun have a blender, have to chopped using knife and bare hands! Anyway after adding them into the base recipe and adding more golden pearls, sturgeon eggs, cyclopeeze, selcon and garlic - fishy smell not so obvious liao. Test feed - fishes went on frenzy. lolx
  12. Thank you KokHui for your support! Some additional info: This is a hang on type skimmer, the smallest German made needlewheel. Upz to myself
  13. Wah no business??!??!?!. OK lah, since I am expecting my baby to come soon liao, I shall do some charity! Starting from $100. Additional bid $10. Auction closes at 21/05/05. Support support leh! Need $$$ to buy diapers.
  14. Of course, try to use 10kk and supplement with 2 x t5s actnics. 20k bulbs are good aesthetically and does not help much on the growth and multiplication of zooxanthalle. Thus you will need minimum 10kk to ensure good health and growth. In fact, some shallower species will thrive in 6500k which is much yellower than the 10kk. In order to have a more pleasing view and to simulate dawn and dusk, use the T5 actinics to supplement the MH.
  15. Great works CalciumReef! Very detailed explainations and pictures! Great to see you back with a vengeance!
  16. Wah bro, the D&D pure Actinic RRP will be $65 leh. Even if you have got it during the recent bulk purchase it will still cost you $40! Bros, those looking for German made T5 for their 3ft, mai tu liao. Upz for you sale.
  17. Sorry forgotten to put end date. I dun really have a price in mind, just wanted to sell it so that it will bring benefits to the next owner. I shall put the end date as 22/05/05 23:59hrs. The time and date will be taken from your posted bid.
  18. Bought the above skimmer in 2004 October to help some friends set-up Nanos. One of them have since given up and thus, I am selling it. Comes with original OR Needlewheel pump and brackets. I have in total set up 3 Nanos with the Biostar and have never been disappointed by its performance. Excerpts from www.aqua-medic.de " The Biostar Flotor is a combination of a powerful motor driven protein skimmer with the Biorotor biological filter. It is designed for salt water aquariums up to 250 l (c. 65 gal). It is the smallest commercially manufactured complete filter system for salt water aquariums. The competitively priced Biostar Flotor allows nearly every tank within its capacity to be transformed into a marine aquarium. It is an ideal filter system for beginners in the marine hobby. With the Biostar Flotor the new trend in marine aquaria, the Microreef and Nanoreef aquariums can be successfully achieved. The skimming capacity of the system is large enough for dense stocking levels, even with fast growing SPS corals. The Biostar Flotor is also ideal for specialist aquaria - for sea horses, crustacea or other invertebrates. - protein skimmer with venturi pump (Ocean Runner PH 2000, 9 watts with Needle Wheel) - Biorotor system creating exceptional biological capacity with enhanced oxygen uptake as the bacteria are alternately emersed and submersed. - simple "hang on" mounting with 4 cm capacity holder Dimensions (l x w x h): 8.5 x 25 x 23 cm - including foam cup 38 cm (c. 3.4" x 10" x 9.2" - including foam cup c. 15.2")" Intend to sell to the highest bidder. Starting price $160, $10 per additional bid. Please post here, no PM with be entertained.
  19. If I am not wrong, this look like a Malaysia made chiller carried by Pacific Marine or something.
  20. Dispar Anthias is right, although I salute Lizard44 for admitting that his previous method/s is wrong. I am also sadden by the fact that many fishes and corals have suffered be in deaths or stress be it directly by Lizard44 or indirectly through those who read this thread and have follow suit. I truly hope that the mods could kindly consider pinning this thread up so that others will not try to re-invent the wheels. Let's all work towards "Responsible Reefing"!
  21. Hi Lizard44, Although I frowned upon your experiements and your getting more reefers to participate in it. I must say that at least you end it well. You are a man of courage to admit that the above method/s does not work and even came back to post the results! Some will just conveniently ignore their wrong advises given. Borrowing the words from Thomas Edison, at least now you know that the above really don't work. With mutual respects for reefing, Gouldian.
  22. By the way, I am a very casual person, thus
