  3. Common occurance amongst Angels and Tangs when first introduced in a new environment- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lymphocystis. If you fish is feeding and healthy, they should be able to fight upon settling down. Just ensure water parameters are good and no other fishes is bullying your french.
  4. Those are accumulated bacteria biofilm. In normal situation these biofilm will be purge out from your reactor and be skim off but it seems that they are accumulating to a ball size inside your reactor. As per jxlex, I feel that the flow in side your reactor may not be sufficient, hence you need to change pump or a better reactor. In the mean time, you may want to disconnect, manual remove the reactor and rinse the pellets thoroughly.
  5. Not really as the adults' shell are quite hard so the wrasses will go for the juveniles and leave the adult alone.
  6. Yes, they will multiply when nutrients are high. If you want to keep them in check, just add a halichoeres wrasse.
  7. There are Collonista sp., you can read about them here - http://www.sgreefclub.com/forum/page/index.html/_/marine-aquarium-setting-up-resources/tiny-grazer-collonista-sp-r73 Personally I love them as they are small and kept my LRs clean. However, some reefers claimed that they will propagate quickly if nutrients are high.
  8. I used the commercial packing of Heinz - buy from my friend who owns a restaurant. Vinegar is commonly used to wash and disinfect kitchen.
  9. I use about 200ml of vinegar for 10l of water, soak for 2-3 days and remove from scrubbing.
  10. Agree, a simple glass bottle with bait leaning on LR is a very efficient trap for bristle worms and crabs.
  11. Could it be Camel Shrimp? Peppermint shrimp are not found in Bali but Florida Keys, Gulf of Mexico, Western Atlantic.
  12. Many Caribbean coral reefs don’t have enough calcium carbonate and have either stopped growing or are on the threshold of eroding away, new evidence suggests. Please read Source for more info: - http://www.futurity.org/earth-environment/without-calcium-coral-reefs-may-stop-growing/
  13. The climate is getting warmer, and sea levels are rising -- a threat to island nations. As a group of researchers led by colleagues from the University of Bonn found out, at the same time, tiny single-cell organisms are spreading rapidly through the world's oceans, where they might be able to mitigate the consequences of climate change. Foraminifera of the variety Amphistegina are stabilizing coastlines and reefs with their calcareous shells. 16. That's what I did when i have aiptasia problem 5/6 years ago. After sun dry, you can try to soak it with anti-chlorine water to neutralize any remainding bleach.
  17. Sorry, I saw your post. If you intend to keep light demanding sps edge to edge, top to bottom, I will suggest 2 vega. You can pop by some of the sponsor such as Madpetz and The Fish Channel to have a better feel.
  18. Inverts especially stars are very sensitive to sudden change in parameters, if you did not acclimate properly they will hide for several days. Sometimes they will even die in your tank. If you notice that its limps start rotting away, its time to remove it.
  19. Yah, the PBT at Fish Channel is very stable and feeding on pellets liao.
  20. Never try, never know. Btw, carpet is no longer stress and ready for collection.
