Yes, get it fixed. Especially so if your tank bottom does not have brace. If not soon your tank will start leaking.

Want advices for Protein Skimmer
Gouldian replied to ericnguyen1905's topic in New to the Marine Aquaria Hobby
I still using Deltec 701 but very tempted after seeing the 1455 at another reefer's tank. Small but the skimmate is "candy floss". -
Some of you may have read the Article by Reef Builders on Nov 2012. Herewith a review I stumbled across at MASA and Salty Reef. Herewith is the description the product taken from Reef Central: Other companies are trying to use bacteria to do the work for them. What makes these cubes so unique? I am using yeast cells to do the work and not bacteria. Yeast is so much easier to work with and they are so easily manipulated. This is how I am able to break / bend the laws of nature like Redfield's Ratio. What I have done there is I used a nano particulated substrate that is titanium based. The yeast are able to take the titanium into the cells and they basically become "Cyborg" yeast. Half living biological organism and half synthetic nano particulated inert metal. Put the 2 together and you have an organism that behaves like a synthetic chemical, but, reproduces like a living biological organism. It also has a very basic "Artificial Intelligence" built into it because all organisms are programmed to survive. If there is enough nutrients to support the colony, they will grow the colony to that size, if the nutrient levels drop, the colony will die off to a size that can be maintained. This "Artificial Intelligence" control system is what makes the cubes last so long. Unlike pellets that get eroded through micro-abrasion in the reactors, cubes only erode through yeast cell consumption. This means that the product will grow or shrink according to your needs and they do this automatically without you needing to do anything and without any waste. Very basically put, within 11 days the cubes become self aware and start learning what your needs and habits are. After 11 days they assimilate the colony to what you need them to be. Unlike other products where we have to adjust ourselves and our systems to what that product requires in order for it to work, this is a product that will become what you and your system needs it to become. To do this with bacteria is almost impossible and you have to be really smart...and I have never been that smart to begin with! This is also the reason that the cubes need so much oxygen (apart from the gentle scrubbing action it provides) because yeast cells need oxygen, they do not operate very well under anaerobic conditions. This is why I stress the oxygen part so much and also where people make the mistake of using reactors to operate this product in. As long as you can feed oxygen into that reactor you will be fine, but, all reactors that are produced do not have this option. This was when the bomb method was born. Looks good, anyone here tried? In December 2012, Reef Builders reported Polyplab have secured the distributions of Orca Nitra Guard. It will be interesting to have them in Singapore soon.

Yes, you can get a 1hp Aircon Compresor (ensure it is not a Inverter set), Titanium Coil, Temperature Probe, Controller and Contactor then get your Aircon guy to do it. But do note not every Aircon guy is able to do it. I did mine by buying every items personally and tell the Aircon guy what to do. You can just contact Derrick through Iwarna, he is very experienced in this.

Yes, if you tank is more than 2ft wide and 2ft deep, it better to open from more side and with this its better to build another frame that secures the top of your tank cabinet to the ceiling.
-
My favorite Magnetic Cleaner, I have been using the 4ER since 2007 and working well, I like the fact that you can change the pads when its worn out.
-
Most top cabinet are just sitting on top of the tank thus not advisable to open both side. However if you want to open both side, you need to build a solid frame and mount the frame onto your ceiling before adding the doors. But do not this will cost more. I regretted not having done that when I build my tank in 2004.

What glue to use to stick sps frag?
Gouldian replied to sunnymau's topic in SPS and Advanced Reefkeepers Forum
Thanks bro, I thought it was only me. This glue is too runny and diluted and will flow all over the coral and hands. I bought from Madpetz the new Ecotech glue and so far its good. I heard from several reeefers, need to clean the nozzle after every use and also gently knock the bottle on the table several times to get the glue to flow back to the bottom of the bottle - this way the nozzle will never get stuck and the glue will not dry up easily. I also like BSI and TLF Glue. -

It is stated in their web that the local distributor is Pacifica International Sources Inc. A check with ACRA - Pacifica is n.k.a Ecotech Marine Asia.com Pte Ltd, thus I surmise that it will soon be available in Singapore. Looking at the claims, I think it should be an interesting product.

FR = Fluidising Reactor is for putting media such as Carbon and PO4 removers. Carbon is used to improve clarity and the latter is used to remove PO4 in water. CR = Calcium Reactor is for Calcium media. CR is used to maintain Ca and KH parameters.
