Skimmers will still skim during Ionic Imbalance. For those unaware, Weipro although a cheap skimmer have been proven to skim pretty well for an entry level skimmer. The technology behind Weipro is very simple - venturi. Venturi is basically a simple device that mixes water with air and thus creates bubble. Why some reefers decides to use other skimmer are: 1) Wanted finer bubbles thus went for Becketts or Needlewheel 2) Attracted by other cheaper skimmer that promises more such as Macro 3) Follow the crowd - monkey see, monkey do Thus if you tune your Weipro correctly it will definitely gives you the skimate worth what you have paid for. T5 is just a general indication of the diameter of the tube. The T5s we are using are with a spectrum suitable for ours needs. Beside that, the T5s that we used are HO aka High Output where as the wattage are: 2ft - 24w 3ft - 39w 4ft - 54w 5ft - 80w The T5s available in electrical shops are usually SO or NO aka Standard Output or Normal Output. Beside not giving you the correct spectrum they do not comes with enough intensity to penetrate your water. HTH

They no longer have retail space. The MCE600 is definitely better than Aqua C urchin or Remora cuz I have seen the actions of MCE and I own both Urchin and Remora. The difference is Deltec Needlewheel! Too bad I bought both before MCE is available in Singapore.

Thanks for the kind comments Sis. I dun blame DB for forgoing his duty to mantain law and order here but to serve his Princess. In order to "educate" and calm Artemas, I will position him to face my tank every evening while me and my wife enjoy our dinner! Guess it won't be long before he will be able to tell Ocellaris from Percula. Unlike our famous reefer WM.
