  1. But what's the different between yours and the $65 wan?
  2. For those that know Diabolus will attest that he is a friendly guy that like to talk direct with a sense of humour. I seriously don't think he is out to flame anyone here let alone Justiana Er. Anyway, I feel that there is nothing wrong with asking whether Justana is a reefer and also encourages her to post her tank info. I do feel that some of the comments on her is a little RUDE. Just my limited 2 cents.
  3. Hi Bro, The key is frequent small feeds. If you are not always at home, you can get a auto-feeder to feed small portions of pellets. At when you are home, you can continue with Henry's food. But bear in mind that frequent feeding = increase waste production. Make sure your skimmer is able to cope.
  4. You can get this. It is available at our sponsor, Reef Depot. HTH
  5. Personally I will never try Sugar Method but I do repect Lizard and Mins for pioneering the experimentations of sugar for the benefit of the community as a whole. Maybe one day, Singapore reefers will be the first to publish the sugar dosing guide for better reefs. But I feel that it would be better that the new unsuspecting reefers have to be warn of the consequences just like what Lizard & Mins have done in their post. My limited 2 cents.
  6. Dunno man, I never tried but I think the Tried and Tested method of dosing Zeostart is a better option. At least we get a Zeovit guide to let us know what to expect. For Sugar, I dun think SIS or any sugar manufacturer ever printed guides on reefing let alone intructions on maintaning great parameters with sugar dosage.
  7. Agree. If I remember correctly in the nineties M^&c W%#** products are super popular in the reefing community. Most people reported great results until sometime when their tank conditions starts to deteriorate. Upon investigations realized that the "famed" product is just sugar solution. And thats also when some reefers start to realized that sugar although produces great results in certain situation, overdosage or even prolonged dosage can be detrimental. Anyway, that's just my limited 2 cents.
  8. Will be great! Where is the location now? Initially was Serangoon Garden then Jalan Kayu after that it was somewhere in Town, I lost track liao. But will be keen to have another hang out belonging to our hobby! Keep us posted!
  9. you may want to contact Tropical Reef Research Tel: 64876966 I know they publishes book but not sure whether they have posters.
  10. The so called "Old" method is what most called the proper method of curing liverocks. It involves spraying seawater (natural or synthetic) onto LRs. The LRs are placed suspended so that they are never submerge. The water that are sprayed on to the LRs are drained into a collection tub whereby it is skimmed, filtered and pumped back into the spray bars. This is the method currently widely practice by some LR cultivators and locally, Coral Farm practice that too. Since this is the first time, I heard of LR Cooking, it is natural that I am curious about the pros and cons vs the method I know. Hope to be enlightened. TIA
  11. If you offer higher price than them, I will tell you. hehehehe
  12. Dun like that lah Sis..... I Eat Snake by visiting LFS what, support the reefing community. hehehe Anyway, everytime I Eat Snake I also see some familiar faces. In fact today I saw 3. hehehe
  13. Below are the ways I de-stress: 1) Go for a run or swim 2) Think at my baby & wife 3) Think at my tank 4) Go Jiak Jua (Eat Snake) during office hours!
  14. So bros, What will be the major differents and results from Cooking LR vs the old method of curing LR using Spray and Skimming (as practiced by CF)? TIA
  15. I believe the Ozone Air Pump you are referring is from Dymax. Seen it in a few LFS already, think it is selling at around $100+.
  16. Yup! Lizard44 is the guy who started the sugar dosing method and have the courage to admit his failure. I really respect him for doing that! With regards to the sugar method, I believe sugar or volka encourages certain strain of bacteria which is effective in bring NO3 down. However, with prolong dosage, the other strains of bacterium being disadvantaged, will slowly deplete. This, I feel may tip the balance that we are all searching. One good analogy is, "Never Put All Your Eggs In One Basket". I also agree with Weileong with the minimal PO4 theory.
  17. I second that. I have tried it before and found that it promote nuisance algae. Was told that by a kind friend in RC that it is too "rich" for reef tank. Stopped using and never have nuisance algae problems since.
  18. Hi Xreef when will you reveal the details such as: 1) Price 2) Specs 3) Availability TIA
  19. Looks a little more ASM to me. Hope Xreef will post more info soon.
  20. After checking with the below math equation, I decided one is more than enough.
