  10. Heard the heavy hands were busy punching the keyboard in the World of Warcraft arena. Nevertheless, glad that our city is better patrolled from now on with Superman & Batman coming into the open.

  12. Like dreamscape, I swear by Aqua C Remora / Urchin & Bio Flotor. Have used Weipro, Prizm and Via Aqua due to price but still went back to the above 3 skimmers.
  13. So is the process any difference? I know that curing require spraying water on the LRs to keep tham moist and water is further skim and re-circulated. I have read previously that cooking requires the rock to be soaked and swirl in a tub and the transferred into another tub and repeat process periodically. Is that necessary?
  14. Hi WL, Can kindly enlighten us on the difference between cooking and curing? All this while I am familiar with curing which is the method practiced by CF. But noticed that more reefers are trying cooking. Was wondering what are the pros and cons. Thanks.
  15. Nice work bro! Can see that you have a pair of handy hands! Keep your posts coming.
  16. Hi Melvyn, No harms done! Maybe one day we can meet for coffee.
  17. Bro Melvin, No offense, but seems like you taking it too personal leh? When you posted in the forum, do you expect people to says things you want to hear? No right? At first you mention: "Hmm..this has attracted alot of comments." Now you replied: "Anyway, from all the discussion we can see where all these are heading into - no end, we can talk till the cow come home and there will be supporters who will fight hard to defend their stand." I apologize if I have made you look or feel bad.
  18. Just did a check in www.cites.org, apparently most corals are classified under Appendix II, herewith is the excerpts: Appendix-II specimens An export permit or re-export certificate issued by the Management Authority of the State of export or re-export is required. An export permit may be issued only if the specimen was legally obtained and if the export will not be detrimental to the survival of the species. A re-export certificate may be issued only if the specimen was imported in accordance with the Convention. In the case of a live animal or plant, it must be prepared and shipped to minimize any risk of injury, damage to health or cruel treatment. No import permit is needed unless required by national law. In the case of specimens introduced from the sea, a certificate has to be issued by the Management Authority of the State into which the specimens are being brought, for species listed in Appendix I or II. For further information, see the text of the Convention, Article III, paragraph 5 and Article IV, paragraph 6. Thus, most will agree that it is not feasible for LFS/LFF to display certs as 1 certs does not signify or guarantee that the subsequent shipment brought in by the said LFS/LFF are legal.
  19. Hi Melvin, I fully agree with you that we should not condone or support illegal corals trading. And I believe your intention of posting this thread is not to riddicule the LFF but as a resposible reefer. What I dun quite agree is the subsequent calls for the naming of the LFF just to satisfy some people's curiousity. The newspaper already clearly states the person involved, why must we link the name to a LFF or a face? I agree with some bros here, when we constantly demands for lower price corals, we are causing the LFF or LFS to looking for cheaper source. So aren't we partially responsible too. Why don't we start with ourselves first? My humble 2 cents.
  20. Hi Chris, I have known you through SRC and have met and spoken with you once in ML. I know your values and respect them. I wasn't directing at you when I commented. In fact, the reasons of my posts in that I personally finds that some of us are getting a little too self righteous to the extend that we are quick to condemn rather than looking for a solution. I do agree with the actions of exposing workshops that uses illegal parts, due to the followings: 1) Illegal parts are using sub standard materials trying to pass off as genuine 2) Illegal parts does not preforms to the spces of the genuine 3) Illegal parts may pose dangers to the vechicle owners and worse, to others as well But I dun find the above compelling reasons in the illegal corals imports. I may be wrong. Cheers,
  21. Yes, smuggling corals is not right. But the LFS has paid the fine, lets not rub salt into the wounds. I am also against the dealing of illegal goods too but honestly I sure all of us will have one point or another chewed on gums or watch VCDs brought in illegally not to talk about buying corals that we know that is too cheap to be "legal". But because they are cheap and the blood in not on us if the authorities catches up, we conveniently convinced ourselves that, "it is alright". So lets not be overally righteous by condeming what is done. We should take this lesson to be selective and even pay slightly more for our LS rather than pestering for lower priced products that inadvertedly forces the LFS to bring in illegal stuffs. Just my humble 2 cents.
  22. I fully agree with you Madmac, I have often find Alan's post to be slightly aggressive and unfriendly. Maybe this is just his unique character. With my limited knowledge in photo editing software, I am sure most will also agree, Alan is not the only one with suspicious looking photos. But unfortunately Alan is the only one that got caught red handed, maybe because of his relationship in general with the majority of the reefers here is not as good as the rest or maybe his challenge by starting this thread is not approriate Anyway, since this thread is started with request to have photos unaltered and without direct lightings, why don't we continue in this spirit and post photos of sps with lighting rather than pushing Alan to the wall? There is no point of peeling the skins of the onion hoping to get something other than another layer of skins. We will just end up with tears in our eyes. Why don't we just gave him a break and hope that he will learn a lesson not to be so arrogant next time. I am sure none of us are perfect. PS: I would love to post my 2 pieces of chocolate bars but afraid it will only serve as stumbling blocks.
