  1. Okay, just did 20% water change and add polyfilter to my eheim to remove the medication remnants. Protein skimmer I've turned on since last night. I'm now hoping my fishes will recover fully within the next few days.
  2. Well, the instruction on the bottle is not clear enough and quite confusing. It doesn't state clearly what to do after the 3 days treatment.
  3. I've completed the 3-days treatment of using Octozin. Corals and inverts seem not affected at all. But my fishes are still getting ich at night. Is this normal? How long should I wait till I can see improvement on the fishes? Another thing, I also notice a lost of appetite on some fishes after using Octozin. Is thir normal? Should I turn on my protein skimmer now? Should I do a water change? Should I use activated carbon to absorb the medication now? Sorry for the too many questions, cause this is the first time I'm using Octozin. Thanks!
  4. >> As for hermits, will they attack anemones or corals?? Dun have much shells in my tank too as it's so small. Blue/red legged hermits are reef-safe, shouldn't attack anemones or corals. madmac, I've never seen my blue/red legged hermits attack my snails. Maybe that's because I provide plenty of shells from various sizes and models for them to choose From what I heard, red legged hermit is hardier and the less aggressive too.
  5. Those of you who have used Octozin, did you put the tablets directly into the tank or dissolve/mix it first in a glass of water and pour it to the tank? I did the latter. Is this okay?
  6. I just put 15 tablets of Octozin to my tank. I notice the mushrooms, torch coral, and polyphs were closing immediately. Snails, shrimps and crabs are not affected so far. Will keep you updated on the progress. Wish me luck!
  7. jason, any improvement in the fish condition after you're using Aquapharm Cure-Ich?
  8. I've tried garlic with no luck. Hyposalinity or use copper in QT tank is not an option cause I don't have QT and I can't catch all the fishes. It'd destroy all the decors and extremely painful. Freshwater dip I tried to my clownfish before and it only stressed it and killed it eventually. Most of the fishes are still eating but a few are not eating anymore, so I'm quite worried. The ich usually appears mostly at night (around 8 PM). During the morning till evening, only a few white spots appear on the fishes' bodies, but at night, suddenly the white spots are covering the bodies quickly. I have 4 cleaner shrimps and just added 2 cleaner wrasses, but they didn't seem to help much.
  9. Thanks for the replies! FuEl, when you used Octozin, did it kill the ich and save your fishes? I have soft corals and many inverts (snails, hermit crabs, starfishes and shrimps). Is it harmless to these corals and inverts? Should we follow the dose on the bottle (1 tablet per 22.5 litre) or reduce the dose a bit? My tank is about 400 litre (100 galon) so it'd take 16-18 tables if I want to follow the written dose. Thanks again!
  10. I'm having a severe ich outbreak in my tank now and will try out Octozin or Aquapharm Cure-Ich. Do you think these products completely reef-safe (for corals and inverts, I don't have clams)? Which one is better? Thanks a lot!

  12. Hermit crabs (blue leg or red leg) would be great. An orange spotted goby would also do the job well. For me, I have both in my 100 gal tank to do the sand sifting and detritus cleanover. Just make sure to have some open shells for the hermits, cause they like to upgrade their houses.
  13. I have a 100 gal tank (quite similar size with yours) and I'm using Resun CL-450 chiller. I set it to stabilize the temperature around 26 C. It's been doing the job quite well. I tried to lower the target to 24/25 C, but I notice it's working much harder and longer than usual, so I decided not to try it anymore. If you're targetting 26/27 C for your tank, I guess CL-450 is more suitable and you can save the extra money for other stuffs. Otherwise, CL-650 should do the job better. Hope this helps. Cheers!
  14. To fight those algaes instantly, get yourself some blue and reg legged hermit crabs. They'll gladly eat those dinos or any nasty algaes off your sand and rocks till they disappear within a few days. In the meantime, keep your nitrate and phosphate low so they won't appear again.
  15. Angelfishes are my favorites, they're simply beautiful, lovely, colorful, elegant yet also among the most demanding in terms of food and water quality. My favorite among all angels is the blue-face angel. If you have seen a fully grown blue-face angel with all its adult coloration, I'm sure you'll agree. I have one in my old tank which has been there for a year. I'm still looking forward to buy another blue-face angel for my new 6-months old tank but this fish's quite rare here. My second favorite angelfish is the regal angelfish, but I still haven't had much success in keeping it (have tried twice). They're just dying due to starvation. They didn't want to eat any food that I offered (nori, pellets, and lettuces). So how do you feed your regal angel and keep it alive?
