  1. Just took out around 350ml, the remaining i ziplock it. Do i keep in the fridge? how long can it last if i leave it damp?
  2. When can i know is time to stop? is it normal to get cloudy when using Bio-pellets? Using FR30 for my 500 L tank ( house around 10 fishes, tangs and angels) I use 500 ML of DD Bio-pellets.
  3. sorry i currently uses Nutri-Fix NP Bio Pellets 500ML and my flowrate is 1200l/hr with a 2060 SC skimmer
  4. This is the first time i use a FR with Bio pellet , previous only uses Cheato. I have place the outlet of the FR near to the skimmer intake. Today is the 3rd day and my whole tank is cloudy. is this normal? will it subside within a few days? I know this is one kind of bacteria bloom but will this harm my live stock and kill them? What should i do now? Should i stop the biopellet? kinda worry now. Anyone can help?
  5. thank you guys, will buy the filter sock and try this weekend. Tks for the tips
  6. Hi, I have a lot of dust/sand particles in the main tank. I do not have a sand bed but with a lot of rocks. I bi-weekly siphon the dust/sand particles on the bottom, but each time i siphon, new dust and sand particles formed on the bottom of the tank. I was been advise by the LFS to add more filter pad, but not much different when i on my wavemaker to full mode, all the dust particles circulate in the main tank. are there other reasons why i am facing this problem? How can i resolve this and achieve a clear water in the main tank. currently i run my wavemaker at the lowest speed to prevent particles from flying all over. hope to get some clues and help here. Thank you
  7. Plan to put in some coco worm. Do angels nip or eat them?
  8. Depend on what you are keeping (mainly sps?) and what is your height of your 3ft tank. The T5 wattage also make a difference. Have to give more information before anyone can advise. Example if you keeping sofies and lps in 3x2x2 tank , it should support enough light. My 2 cents.
  9. Nice fish collection you have I enjoy watching the video.
  10. I used to have a BM NAC7. Nac9 uses Atman PH4000. This is a relatively big pump. More noise are generated than smaller pump. Try to secure the base to reduce vibration. If your skimmer foaming is good, the pump is working and not faulty. but it could be the impeller due to wear and tear. Pretty normal for BM stuff. google for BM NAC noise problem.
  11. I use both if both my reading are high. Heard biopellet are more for nitrate and rowaphoas for PO4.
  12. chiller is prefer for corals/ reef tank. ( most coral, chiller is a must )
  13. Had the tank for the whole family. Although my parents and bro do not participate such as water changing or landscaping or even buying live stock. When the light are on, they are attracted to the tank. My mum will say how nice is the flower colour and my dad will say, your fish look like is dying!!! lol Is quite funny when they start to comment. But never tell your parents, how much you spend on that fishes or corals!! They will ask you not to keep anymore ... lol My experience
  14. sorry error , i mean : Dead rock do not attached with good or bad algae
  15. I think it looks bleached from the picture. is it still in your tank?
  16. Ask her what she likes I think a balance reef tank is nice for a start. I am sure aunty love flowers. just like my mother. She like corals more than my fishes. lol
  17. dead rock are normally : white in colour. do attached with good or bad algae Do not smell like live rock ( no sea smell )
  18. I could not agree more with you on your last statement, I have the same thoughts as you.
  19. if no coral RX, can always use normal iodine, this helps by eliminate any parasites or infected zoas. using the main tank water and a few iodine, dip for around 8 mins.
