  1. Interested, PMed you. Pls check
  2. Hi all, can Artica chiller 1/10 support 450L of water? As i use the JBJ website for the appropriate size , it recommended 1/10 Horsepower. Anyone has experience can advise me? tks
  3. Hi KayKay, nice tank there. can you share with me your avg water parameter without Skimmer? (Esp. Ammonia) for the past 4 months? How often do you feed your fishes and corals and did you experience a lot of algae growth on the rock or glass? Any loss of LPS or SPS for the past 4 months? Beside upflow algae scrubber (UAS), did you use Bio homme or live rock in the sump ? I am also thinking of going Sumpless soon, but i think a more stable and mature tank will help alot.
  4. Yes i agree, minimum photo period of 4-5hours in full blast of your LEDs. for New clam, better to bring it up at least half of your tank height ,since your is a 2.5ft tank When the new clam acclimate to the tank environment, you can slowly move down to the bottom and adjust. Doesn't mean strong light, the clam will do better. sometime too strong the light will also kill the clam. all depend how well the clam adjust to your tank spec. (i mean light) I like T5 for my clam, LEDs also can house clam but have to be a bit careful and tactful .
  5. My view. Most Lps corals can be kept in IOS tank. just need to know the appropriate water movement and placement on the type of species . power head can help to achieve the right water movement.
  6. Hi Senior, anyone has good results or success in a skim-less tank? can share with me? Example the number of live stocks, type of corals and what is in your sump tank? Thank you
  7. LED lighting is tricky especially the quality of the light emitter and angle of the lens, but PAR38 light should do well with Zoas and LPS. Good luck Sglic bro.
  8. Light is most important, best with white light that is 12K. With moderate water movement to circulate the green ball ( ball can rotate so all surface will have light) and a little help of iron element for healthy growth and most important must have nutrients to grow big big!
  9. speaking from experience and from US Site and like to share here : I think using NSW is ok, It think it depend on the live stock you are keeping also. (SPS need very good water parameter and consistences, so it might be at risk) Is good to test a few round on your current NSW source first, look for for consistence supplier and then decide. Eliminate those supplier that always give bad water parameter. Even if you add in NSW, you still need to check for PH , SG, KH and add them accordingly. A good biological system will help to lower nitrate and P04 fast. I have no problem using NSW for my LPS , fishes and easy care sps like Monti, In fact NSW has beneficial elements and bacteria. just sharing here.
  10. if i am not wrong ,best to do it with 6" dsb to be more effective. If don't disturb the sand, i think it should be fine, it also beautify the tank.
  11. i think depend on what type of algae. You can still house very small Scarlett hermit, they are helpful in nano tank.
