  1. bro, can speak english?? too chim...dun really understand... anyway, i chose not to feed cyclopeeze...my skimmer is not a mighty one..so i rather not risk my corals..i can opt to feed other stuffs like pang cai, nori, formula 1 and formula 2...but i cannot choose to upgrade my skimmer... i dun have nitrate problem so far, but if skimming continues to be affected, then i believe my nitrate will shoot up in no time...
  2. are u saying that u are dosing az no3 to create more foam or to counter your nitrate problem?
  3. wah...your tank super cramp ah...
  4. aquamedic stuffs so ex... get a TUBBY from our sponsor COOKIEMUNSTER (coral lab)....definitely cheaper than aquamedic...
  5. yup...tat's wat i did when i dun have any fishes...tank was skimmerless for 4mths..

  8. yup, tat's wat i read...plexiglass will not turn yellowish... will most prob use tat..
  9. take a closer look...when u feed, the foaming will drop for a while...
  10. hi all, i noticed that whenever cyclopeeze is used, foaming from the skimmer drops dramatically...cyclopeeze is known to be very very nutritious for fishes and some corals as well, but it contains too much oil and will affect skimmer's performance... i've seen such disruptions in H&S, AquaC, Euro reef, beckett, dual beckett skimmers..and it is quite terrible, usually the foaming will drop almost immediately, and takes sometime to be rebuild.. AquaC having the worst turnaround time, and beckett recovers pretty fast... it might take even hours before the foam builds up, my worst encounter was 5hrs (my own RobSKim Mini 120/500)...i like to feed my fishes very often, almost very 4-5hrs...if i continue using cyclopeeze, then my skimmer will not be skimming anything at all... anyone else face the same problem as well? wat's your pick?? pls vote and comment as well...thanks...
  11. get a overflow from IAN, he will teach u how to set it up... if not look for hermit loh...his DIY overflow quite nice also...
  12. just trying to push my luck...see how far i can go loh...maybe will try out with sump 1st...smaller and safer... not DIY king lah, more like DIY fanatic...our DIY king retiring soon loh...so sad...
  13. it is not advisable to use FBF for marine as nitrate will shoot up very fast..
  14. i read somewhere tat acrylic won't turn yellowish because it is inert...dunno where i read from lah...15mm seems a little overkill...will do more research 1st...thanks...
  15. your mushroom super nice... i think its not alveopora, looks more like goniopora... it is illegal to ship in corals from oversea, especailly now with CITES and other stuffs.. fishes won't be a problem, can bring in a max of 50 fishes but only in a 3ltr bag...hahaha..that's the requirement...and also no endangered species or venomous ones...
  16. for scratch removing agent, can look for IAN mah..i tink it is $60 for a package of 3 different solutions...
  17. quietone and eheim pumps are superbly quiet... not a little bit of sound...
  18. for a 3ft tank, i suggest u go for the rio seio 820...cheap and not too strong..tunze, even the smallest model 6060 seems too strong for most 3ft tanks...
  19. sui!!!! too bad my pocket dry up liao...
  20. hi all, thinkin very very hard on DIYing a big tank...might be a 3ft X 3ft X 2ft(height) one...so need advise on the thickness of acrylic tat i should use... it should come with an external overflow box, full top and bottom euro-bracing...reinforcements at the bottom, like a Reef Maniac beckett skimmer.. thinking of using 10mm acrylic...would it be sufficient? had been working with acrylic for quit sometime already, but never tried such a big project before.. any suggestion??
  21. next time i go indo will try to smuggle red prata into singapore...dun care liao, at most kena fine by AVA only... red prata cost more than 10X in singapore...prices sometimes even go up to $200 for some very good species...
