steal it from one of the beaches loh...hahahhaa i think its better to have a very thick sandbed...i never regret having a 5inch DSB cos now i have no Nitrate problems at all..even though i feed my tangs like mad(3-4times a day)... if u only have a 3inches DSB, i rather u save the money on the sand and go for a big skimmer...but since now tat u have already have the 3inches, then add more loh... bite the bullet when u are setting up..its better than regretting it next time when u face problems...u will hate it!!

how big is your tank?? if it is 3ft, then can try 1 X 250W..so tat u won't have to dig out too much when u wanna upgrade...but if it is 4ft, then no choice...

i used to pour a whole 3 ltr each time..but my fishes dun like it...they start to pant like mad...so no choice, i drip it as advised.. kalk solution usually has PH of around 12-13..once i pour the kalk solution into my tank, my tank's PH goes from 8 to 8.3-8.4...so it is quite a significant change..and considered quite terrible for fishes..
